One man said his mortgage was £250 a month but he was spending £400 a month on petrol. An insane state of affairs!
Yes its crazy...I keep thinking about that statement "we are all in this together"...How exactly do they figure that one out then:mad:?
But what is it going to take for people to take some action on this situation...when fuel prices hit 90 odd p there where huge protests and its now an average of £1.37
I know it doesnt help that the government has made it almost impossible for people to protest in this country.
Yep we are all in this together NOT at least the tory governmemnt actually admits that green tax isnt being spent on the environment. So why are we paying so much tax on fuel?..to pay for the banks Again.
Sorry rant over guys:cool:JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

It's a cloudy start here in Provincial City and I'm squinting anxiously We actually know who you really are and where you live and a crack corps of OS-ers may descend on you at any time, pinnies and rolling pins to the fore, to sort you out.......[/B]:rotfl:

I don't care how cheap pot noodles get, I'd rather eat dry bread. One of the child's favourites is those 10p noodles. He loves them...I am assuming he will grow tastebuds as he gets older?[/QUOTE]
.( what a load of carp they are too)

Stiltwalker huge congratulations. :j
Redlady Happy Birthday.
Been out and got the free lego again. The lady at Smiths was surprised to see me as she was convinced I would have gone into labour this weekend - but no such luck. Seeing consultant tomorrow as to what is going to happen.
Sorting out all my ebay bits to sell and at the moment they are taking up half our bedroom. Need to find somewhere to store them until I have the energy to sell them all - listing is ok just cannot get to the post office at the moment.
I too am struggling with the constant rise in petrol prices. I have had to limit myself to £30 in petrol a week and if it is running low I just cannot use the car other than to take my daughter to and from nursery.
I get my food delivered to save on petrol costs (and because I cannot do it at the moment) and to be honest it has saved me money. I only buy stuff off my list and when I use mysupermarket I can see how much I am saving and which supermarket is cheaper.
Anyway, best go and pick up my little girl from nursery.'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'
Proud Mummy to two gorgeous miracles.:j0 -
Happy Birthday Redlady! And yes, v exciting delivery - I hope it IS meant for you!
Stiltwalker many many congratulations. Enjoy your little family xxxx
Well I've taught my class this morning (Early Years French) and now have the afternoon free. Holly (dd who is 3) is pestering to go out so I have texted a friend and we are meeting at the park. It is threatening to rain but we need the fresh air. Have arranged to meet another friend on Thursday morning for a walk in the local woods. We are lucky that although we live in a large town on a council estate with a postage stamp garden, you don't have to go too far to find space to play.
It can be hard to keep little ones busy without spending money. Holly loves going out and being busy. Every day she wants to know what we are doing or where we are going. And in the hols I have my other dd Rachel (who is 6) too. Some of my friends would rather go to the local indoor play centres, which obviously cost to get in, plus then you are fleeced for teas, coffees, lunch etc. You can easily spend €10-15 on this and I just don't have it. We have a NT membership and love to visit Attingham Park but then you've got to use petrol to get there and it's hard to resist the cakes...! Last time we met some friends there we took picnics and I took some homemade vic sponge. My friend Lucy (who is something of a cake guru - makes amazing brownies) said that my cake was nicer than the NT cakeResult. We also have a passport for the Ironbridge museums which are near us. You can use clubcard vouchers to buy the passports which allow unlimited access to all the museums for 1 year. They are good to visit on a rainy day and one of them is a children's science museum which is great. Blists Hill, the open air Victorian town, is great too if the weather is ok.
The allotment is coming on well - strawberries and gooseberries appearing like mad - will ripen soon I'd imagine. Also elderflowers are out here - must pick some!
Right I best be off to sort lunch - then later on I'm walking up the Wrekin again (local hill) in training for our charity walk up Snowdon in June. Eek it is getting scarily close now and I am still so unfit!Skint but happy with my lovely family

I thank my lucky stars that I was raised thriftily and OS as it's easier to revert to your base setting than to learn it from scratch as an adult. BUT perfectly possible, anybody out there lurking, lots of help and advice, so nobody is to go slinking off feeling inadequate. We actually know who you really are and where you live and a crack corps of OS-ers may descend on you at any time, pinnies and rolling pins to the fore, to sort you out.......:rotfl:
why on earth should anyone feel inadequate for lurking on this thread?
Nice of you to think that people need sorting out0 -

I'm hoping to get my sticker for 2 stone weight loss on Thursday. It's my birthday that day, so it would be a nice present. Although paying to go to fat class isn't very MSE I am regarding it as an investment in mine and my son's future. I can't do it on my own - I've tried. I am however following it by cooking proper home made food and not by eating out of packets. I even have a stash of home made burgers in the freezer in case the sun ever comes out for long enough for us to have a BBQ.
Take care all of you.
Good luck Cranky. What fat class is it? WW or SW? I am really trying to lose weight at the mo and doing a lot of exercise but it isnt shifting - because in the evenings after the kids are in bed I really struggle to control what I'm eating. I'm fine in the daytime and at mealtimes!Skint but happy with my lovely family

Thanks. It's SW. I had the problem of eating in the evenings after the house elf goes to bed ( a mixture of comfort eating and boredom). I go to bed myself now as we don't take food upstairs. I can read and drink water until it's time to go to sleep....seems to be working
I'm right off children. The house elf now has his friend round who banged her head coming head over handlebars on a bike yesterday. They are both obviously well enough for school and will be going tomorrow. Despite them giving our cat a bath this morning (good job she likes water) I have made them chocolate cakes, which they were very enthusiastic about, and they're asking for their lunch now.0
