Well - you're obviously over the moon - and who can blame you?:D

To me - I recall you mentioning that there were 3 houses you put in a bid on and that you had 2 of them you would prefer ideally - but would still be glad of house 3. I am guessing that this is the house no. 3 (ie its the last choice house out of your 3).

Actually though - this one is clearly the one that has "got your name on it":D. When you look at it - its maybe not as good per se as the other 2 - but you havent even moved in yet and all 3 of the older ones of you have got friends/made new friends already. The baby is a bit young yet - but I expect Holly will soon crawl her way down the garden by the sound of it and start gurgling over the wall at a new playmate too:D. So - actually - you may not have got the best house - but you got the best one for YOU personally.

So - it looks to me as if all will work out for the best for you.

I just have this feeling that things are falling into place for you exactly as per plan and All Will Be Well:D.

Maybe a dehydrator would be good for those of you near to shops -as well as those with allotments. Then you can buy loads of whoopsied carrots or leeks or onions and dehydrate them for soup mix in winter ? Also apples ?

    Mardatha

Dehydrated carrots are HORRIBLE - well IMHO anyway:p.

I havent tried leeks or onions yet - though I imagine they would be fine...

Dehydrated apples are nice - still working my way through last years dried apples...I mean ter say...have you SEEN the price of organic apples?:eek::eek: - hence I dehydrate all apples I get for free one way or another and cant manage to use up "fresh"...

Ceridwen please tell me more about your dehydrator. Is it expensive? is it long lasting? what does it cost to run (I am assuming its electric)?

...and, on a totally different tack, and BAD stuff happening at the moment in my own life....

...just popped down to kitchen thinking "Dinner....ceridwen...DINNER...eat woman..." and telling myself off that I've not even started dinner yet tonight....

...walked into kitchen and the plastic top of a bottle popped straight off and flew across the room at me...eerrrrr.....shades of "something or other" (as tis only fruit juice concentrate in that bottle)....think that means "someone" is trying to attract my attention and say "Its okays...ceridwen...we're here and looking out for you" (ie Spirit Guide or summat....).:)

I'm not as "spiritual" as you Kittie and Mardatha...I'm a very pragmatic/show me the money/what about the "practicalities" in Life and then I'll think of Higher Matters sorta person....ie Food First and then I'll think of everything else more "important":rotfl::o...hmmm....

...well...lets just hope its "Its okay - we're on the alert/on guard" thing - and not "one of those - odd - things"...

    - Yes...it WAS expensive. But that was my choice. There are dehydrators out there for about £30 odd I believe. My first one was a Stockli one - at £120 (YEARS ago....) and its pretty good.

    - But I always regretted that I hadnt had the money to buy THE dehydrator and promised myself that "one day..." - and I bought it recently - ie an Excalibur one and yep...they DO cost "an arm and a leg". That is - the Stockli ones still cost round about £120 all these years later - but the Excalibur ones - well I think mine was about £220??? (and thats the 5 tray version - not the 9 tray one...).

Reason - I wanted a straight-sided one (for my tiny little kitchen - where every inch counts). I also wanted the brand that has got custom-made dehydrator "sheets" to go on the trays (and anyways...its easy enough to make ones own "sheets" to go on these mesh trays - being straight-sided ones). Reason - one can use these dehydrator "sheets" for purposes of doing wetter things (eg fruit leathers, yogurt sheet thingies, etc). Those things ARE only possible with the aid of dehydrator "sheets". If one only has a dehydrator on its own (ie with mesh trays) then one can only dry fruit/veg.

With the "sheets" - then there is a lot more variation possible.

Also - the Excalibur is just a rather better quality one all round.

BUT BUT BUT - I understand its perfectly possible to get a perfectly adequate dehydrator for just drying fruit and vegetables for about £30. You dont have to spend the amount I did. I wanted the absolute Best - and paid through the nose accordingly. But its perfectly possible to get a perfectly decent one for "basic" purposes for around £30 as I understand it.

    Hi all

thought I would pop in quickly and update you on my progress.

Spoken to housing officer - my assessment is tomorrow at 2.50pm ~ then I am scooting over to pick up Benjamin from school slightly early (only 10 minutes or so) whilst my housing officer does another assessment, and then she is going to meet us at the house so we can go and look round it. I did ask if I could sign the tenancy agreement there and then and she said no I have to go into the council for an appointment but I think that is to go over everything with us and give us rent cards etc so will definitely have photos tomorrow for you all to nose at.........I mean approve of. :D

You must be really excited now Sammy - I'm itching to see your photos. I feel like a real snooper but I'm dying to see them anyway:)
