on the subject of caulis they are £1 each in our local supermarket and they are tiny and look wilted/old. All the fruit and veg is sky high in price, I cannot understand where they get 5% inflation rate from. Its a lot more in my neck of the woods.0

To all who suggested ANIMAL ADOPTION
I had looked into it with a zoo thats near my grandmother in hampshire - she works there as a volunteer in her younger days - but was considering an adoption there and he then gets tickets so he can go and visit the animal and it helps provide for him
As far as zoo keeper experiences - I have looked into it too and he is too young yet - he is 7 this year but next year he is old enough to have a zoo keeper day so am going to ask cheshire zoo if he can go with one of their keepers for the day and help out and daddy can accompany him and then I'll go round the zoo with my father/step mother and holly whilst they are 'working'
As far as adoption go the zoo i am looking at offer a childrens pack and they getAdoption Certificate
Fridge magnet of your animal
1 FREE child ticket
Photo + animal fact sheet
Presentation Folder
Online Adopters Zone
Invite to Adopters weekend
Recognition at your adopted animal's enclosure
now the only question is who do I adopt? so votes please
Isabella the giraffe
Yenna The Tiger
Chico the meerkat
Eva the penguin
Wendy the Pygmy hippo
Endeever the snow leopard
FYI its £25 for a childrens adoption.
JUST NOTICED! For £100 he could have an animal encounter with a giraffe! He gets entry to the park, and 30 minutes to touch and feed the animal. xTime to find me again0 -
Wendy the Pygmy hippo or Endeever the snow leopardNonny mouse and Proud!!

I shall ask my eight year old, I suspect he would say the meerkat as they are so funny. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

I KID YOU NOT!!!!
I am sure Ben would love a zoo adoption pack for his birthday. I think I'll consider that for my two grandsons for Christmas as they will be 7 & 8 then & if I got them for Chester Zoo I could go with them to see the animals. I went the other week for the first time in years and had a great day out.
My vote would be for the hippo or the meerkat0 -
Isn't he into lizards or something? If so can he not adopt a reptile? Otherwise I also vote for the snow leopard xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

DH was cycling to work across the forest yesterday morning and saw an Ikea blue bag caught on a bush. It was still there on his way home, so he wombled it. I was so proud, it brought a tear to my eye!
Thanks to all for your views on TV - to keep or not to keep- we've made the decision not to keep, but to watch stuff at a later date on i-player. As has been mentioned, as long as you don't watch 'live', there's no need for a license, so that will be a saving. It will have to wait until after the FA cup final though as DH is a Stoke City supporter; as he says, "Someone's got to be."0 -
TudorRose its so good to see you posting, how is your wee shop doing?
