Used to popcorn the traditional way but with no oil. I now have a duck that pops my corn!

    Thanks

I've never done it but at that price I'd certainly give it a go

We were up in Edinburgh today for a day oot. But it was too hot and too sunny and too full of tourists and we were too knackered. So we came home early and slumped on the couch. :)
My older son got his second foot op yesterday and isnt too good. Different from the last one, which was ok. This time the anaesthetic has knocked him sideways and he feels like he's got flu. Plus his foot is scalding pain. Please send nice vibes for him :)

I have frozen similar stuff so dont see why not, I seem to remember the problem was the plastic was very brittle when frozen and I had to transfer contents when I defrosted it as the container had holes.

Mardatha - sending healing hugs your way. :)

Its prom day today and having spent weeks planning it (I swear my wedding was way less stressful) and spending on it its all sorted, she has been delivered to school and looked gorgeous. The number of limos and antique cars was unbelievable - where people get the money is astounding especially as they pulled into school and were thrown out on drive then limo left!!£400 upwards for a five minute journey and an ignomious exit - madness they name is Prom!!

Thanks to everyone for the advice re freezing marg/lard. Got three tubs, as I was not sure if I could freeze it. Will be round in the morning for the paper, so I will buy some more and freeze. Very lucky on the whoopsie's tonight.Got two big bags of potatoes for 20p each.

Mardartha - sending your son lots of positive healing vibes, hope he feels better soon.

The big news from me today is I have TWO GREEN TOMATOES!!! One is about the size of a pea, and the other is a bit bigger. I cannot believe I am so excited by this. Mind you, it seems like a lot of green plant for such a small yield. I just hope this is the start and not the end of them! Should the plants be fed now they have some actual fruit?

Kidcat - it's my god daughters prom tonight too (my DD next year) and it does seem ridiculous. THe dress, shoes, bag, jewellery, spray tan, make up, nails, hair do and hair accessories have cost a small fortune and a limo there and back!! It is ridiculous, but we can't let DD miss out (which is how it starts!)

I am already looking for a reasonably priced frock.

Made me LOL on my way home tho when a horse and cart was coming in the opposite direction with 3 sixteen year old lolitas in it - and about a mile of traffic stuck behind!! :D
I wanna be in the room where it happens

From reading the threads/boards I know lots of people are going to be watching the new Torchwood right now. But just wanted to say that the hour before Torchwood there is a new Rick Stein series about Spain - and it's fantastic :j Tonight he was in northern Spain where I used to live and every scene brought back some very fond memories. This is not about well known Spain but real, everyday Spain. No doubt the first part will be repeated/on i- player and I heartily recommend it - not least for the recipe for "patatas bravas"

Right - Torchwood has been on for a few mins, best get off
