Not a great deal of money saving today however I have just experimented for tomorrow's sandwiches. In the filled roll places they often have a cheese savoury filling which I love so I thought I'd make it. I've grated cheese, added some chopped spring onions and lots of mayo however I'm not sure how successful it will be. It seems much more clumpy and clay like than the bought stuff. I'll chill it overnight and maybe at 5am tomorrow when I'm making the pieces it will be fine.
If anyone had any thoughts I'd be very grateful:D

I also picked up the free Asda mag at the weekend and there is a recipe in there for a choux ring filled with strawberries and mascarpone cheese. I have all the ingredients so I may give it a go. I'm a dab hand at shortcrust pastry but not sure if my skills will translate to choux just as easily - we will see:)

then that sings to the dog ;)iv always done it sung chatted played hide and seek ball games and he absolutely loves it he is a little jack russell and a dear little dog one of the family hi paidinchickens do you like the national lampoons christmas vacation too ?an absolute classic movie hilarious i like their auntie too when she wrapped the cat up and the boy says can t wait to see what iv got i like people like that auntie because they have depth and character and are fun unlike some people who spend all their time !!!!!ing about other people.do remember the scene where they chopped their own christmas tree down and the girls eyelashes froze together absolutely classic i watch that film every christmas and it makes me laugh:rotfl::T

Glad to hear you sing to him. I had a JR for 12 years and although he went to work with my hubby every day I loved having him in the house when I was at home. I chatted to him constantly, in fact sometimes he used to groan and turn his back on me. I'm sure that was his way of saying he'd had enough chat:) I miss him dreadfully, JR's are real characters. It's safe to say I was never in control of him one little bit - I didn't have a rabbit problem when he was around though and my parent's farm cats were never to be found at ground level as they were all targets for him. We always suspected he was the cause of the big tabby cat only having half a tail:eek:

Scottishminnie you need some grated carrot in savoury cheese too, that will help with the clumping :)

Another delicious sandwich filling is grated cheese and humous. Yummy!

Didn't think of carrot for a minute. Thanks, I'll go add some.

Also just realised I'd mentioned making pieces rather than sandwiches - my mother would be horrified to hear me use such a phrase:rotfl::rotfl:

Scottishminnie-choux pastry is quite easy but you do make it a completely different way from shortcrust. I once made 200 profiteroles for my sisters wedding.
