CorBlimey - I just wanted to say well done you! You sound like you're getting yourself sorted and your neighbour sounds lovely! I wish my neighbours were my friends, I've lived in my place for nearly a year now and only occasionally say hi them (if i even see them at all!)Aug £10 a day £0/£10000

Dee - I agree with the others! Sorry but they are ungrateful! I love getting homemade pressies, it means someone has put thought and effort into the pressie which is better than some random shop bought thing! If things keep going the way they are they'll be wishing that they had taken a leaf outta your book!Aug £10 a day £0/£10000

I am on a mission to get rid of this debt I have as soon as I can , so I have been doing everything I can not to spend money unless its a NEED.
I cook from scratch, buy most things either value or whoopies. Also making cards and presents for family and friends. Also as I have had to give up my job to look after my OH money is alot tighter. so I am carefully with every penny I spend.
Well today my younger sister turns up, she wanted to know what I was going buy our older sister for her birthday which is in four weeks, said I have not decided what to make yet.Well she told me as my sister was having a large party I couldnt turn up with something made, so she has decided that she will buy something from me and my OH and sign it that it was from us. I told her she was not to do that as I dont have the money to pay her back.
I got a so annoyed at her I told her to leave.
Then she told me the family are embarrassed at how we live, told her coming from them it was a joke as they all live off credit cards and most of them owe twice as much as me. So she stormed out.
I rang my older sister and told her we would not be going to her party as I dont have the money to buy her a present, as I would be making her one.
She told me not to bother to make her anything as she does not want homemade, and its up to me if I dont come to her party.
So I guess we am not going.

oh no Deepride comes before a fall. I feel so sorry for those people who have to keep up with the Jones', it's wasted energy and money.
So many people out there just have not cottoned on to what is happening and it's going to get worse.
I think I am the butt of the joke in my family too, sometimes it hurts sometimes I brush it off because I would much rather have me, my life, my family than theirs and their personality, believes of what is right.
Whether I should say this or not I am going to........ your sisters sound like spoilt brats, sound like the don't have an ounce of decorum and have not learnt how to be appreciative without disdain.
Disdain, isn't it an ugly trait? So sorry you feel like you can't go to her party. I hope they feel very small indeed..... all over a present0 -

just got back from the postoffice and was approached by what looked like an old aged pensioner who was waiting in line i did nt realise untill he started talking to me and i nearly got knocked out that he had been drinking but he was nt rude just blurted out and ask if i could make him a bit of tea it made me jump a bit and i did nt know what to say he then apologised and then i replied well i dont know you he then said he d got to find a food shop so i pointed him in the direction of icelands but thinking now i don t know whether he was just some old boy who d been in the pub lunchtime and got drunk or he was a homeless person in which case i would of bought him something to eat from Greggs he was nt aggreesive or rude just a bit legless when i was driving home it worried me even though i didnt know him that he may not have anything to eat.0

Greetings from the Far Side where I found a flawless way to end a 3 month + drought; borrow a tent and go away for a few days.
Everything was muddy including my hair and I have a sopping tent drying in my living room which will probably take days before I can fold and return it to the mate who owns it.
I have no idea what my allotment might have done in the week since I last saw it but at least I have some good news; my Nan has another of her ex-windows to replace the one topping my h.m cold frame which I stupidly broke by allowing it to fall off it's prop. Thank goodness for wise old countrywomen who don't waste a thing.
The highlight of this afternoon is getting my eyes tested, which will probably involve new glasses. Anyone know of some especially good deals on at the moment? I'd appreciate a tip or two.
Then, first thing tomorrow it's a dental check-up and the day after I'm having my head examined.:rotfl:Actually, it's been examined before and the inside of your skull, scanned by MRI from above, makes your eyeballs look like boiled eggs in socks which are twisted where they go into your brain. Weird and not a little gross. After all that, I think I get issued with an MOT certificate and am allowed on the road for another year...........I think.
 Hello to posters I haven't read before and I hope to read back from present and try to catch up with all your doings etc. I have new chips in the pooter and go-faster stripes so shall be whizzing thru.
Hope everyone is having a good day.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
