freudianslip, the dough rises to double its size at first rising, how long this takes depends on the room temperature and how much yeast you have used. average for a dough made with a kilo of flour is 45 mins. then knockback and place in tin and leave for 20 to 30 mins to rise a second time.0

am supposed to be having 2 days of peace to do with as I may. Dd and Dgs have gone to a wedding in Scotland and OH has gone on a disabled fishing trip. Problem is my arm still won't work  the pain is terrible, GP says its arthiritis and just keep taking the tablets - but they don't help. So am very fed up with it.
Went to Cs and got nowt, library got grow your own drugs so am going to have a read of that later and Mr T, am trying the shampoo in the washing machine , for 22p it was worth the experiment. Not much else of interest in there, all toooooo expensive
Off to do something crafty with one arm :rotfl: At least I got one! It could be worse.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
I will try that shampoo as well. Heat usually works for me ginny if anything is sore - but you still have to sit still and not use the arm eh
I once read something about diet being the way to treat arthritis but it was a long time ago .. somebody cured themselves of it by totally changing diet.0 -
Just dont trap your good arm in the door ginny!!!
I recommend vodka for taking away any pain however, it does seem to recreate some additional pain the next morning.
Take care x0 -
Dollydaydream, you could cancel the insurance by letter, just type it up and get your OH to sign it. Saves all that piped music and press1.. to lose the will to live, press2.... to waste years of your life and press3... to talk to an idiot.0

That reminds me of a recent spell I had on the telephone trying to sort out my car insurance. And to make things worse, it was an 0845 number.
Not surprisingly, I am now with a company where I was able to do everything online. One life - your life - live it!0 -

 - well I shall say no more than there was a comment from the leader of a foraging walk I went on to the effect that someone with really bad arthritis down one side accidentally fell into a patch of nettles and spent rather a long period of time after the incident free from pain. So - maybe you pays your money and you takes your choice....though personally I'd hold my nose firmly and try experimenting with nettle tea (where's a stick fingers down throat smilie when one needs one?:rotfl:).
It might be worth your while googling for "arthritis + nettles" and see what comes up and 'tis your choice what to do about it...0 -

Just in case people haven't heard of it: this website saved me a fortune when I was constantly on the phone trying to sort things out after my dad died.
A quiet day here: I've got one of those electricity monitors and I've become obsessed with it, trying to get the numbers ever lower!
And someone (sorry it was a few pages back) mentioned apricot curd: sounds yummy - any chance of a recipe?0 -
7 Week wonder, we have one of those as well. I am constantly checking it and switching things off.
It was a busy day at work today. I feel really tired tonight. I have been feeling a bit fed up this week. I think it is all the news of price rises. I watched the programme on BBC1 earlier in the week children in the UK below the poverty line. It was really sad and I can't get the kids out my head. Things are going to be so difficult for people this winter. I was pleased to hear Rowan Williams speaking out.
Tomorrow I am going to tidy the front garden. There are no plants and it is a bit forlorn. I need to get some plants but I am not sure what to get since it doesn't get sun until the evening. I also need to decide on hedging.
I am really pleased with the surprise result of me dropping meat from my diet. The boys are asking to taste all my veggy meals and their vegetable intake has increased. I think I am going to try meatless Mondays from next week for the whole family.
I also want to go to a fabric shop to price fleece. I want to start making some no-sew blankets for snuggling up on the sofa in the winter. I also have some herbs to freeze.GC 2011 Feb £626.89/£450 NSD3/7 March £531.26/£450 April £495.99/£500 NSD 0/7 May £502.79/£500
