Yes Gailey love if you look back over your posts you would see all that you have done and are doing. You are such a hard worker and loving Mum to your little children. You so remind me of myself with my six children(all adults now)
Make sure you take time aside each night for Gailey, when dh is home after dinner say. Nice relaxing bubble bath for example and maybe a magazine or book, even an hour is bliss:) xo You are so important too.Do a little kindness every day.;)0 -
Hiya Bertiebots, I had to grin at your post.....well not that its funny. Its just that some men never seem to amaze me. I'm not in such a hard position as you (3 small kiddies) but my partner of 18years decided it was now time for him to move out once he got a job. He's been in and out of work for most of the time i've been with him. We also have a DD of nearly 16. I've wanted him to leave for a very long time but he's decided now is the time. He's always been mean. He is now back at home with his mum at age 50. She has a large 5 bedroomed house and lives on her own. Owns a business and is very well off. He now lives there with no money to pay out (she wouldn't dream of taking money off him) and she feeds him for free. I know it sounds as though i'm bitter... well i probably am. I just wonder at some peoples mentality. But then again i should be gratefull at least he is out of my life. I wish you all the best. Hang in there girl. And sorry for the moan. But gee did that make me feel better.0

I spent the day in garden..i am so excited i have fruit on my white currents, red current bushes..not much but its there...
Had a lovely HM pizza for lunch and a buffet tea tonight..
Done all my ironing and put it away..so i have worked myself to a standstill for the moment..pretty sure its not going to last..i hate sitting on my bum not doing something...

Determined imgoing to beat inflation!:D
For me its how can we live a happy high standard of life on as little money as possible,
being os
being savy shopper
reducing debts
making extra income.
NEarly tripped over my tongue when they took their shirts off mind!:eek::eek::eek::D:D:D:D:D:D made my day even if Ben wasnt sure who they were! :rotfl:
I know I am determined to get going on the OS wagon again - having little miss has made things somewhat impossible at the minute but Im determined and I need to get my bum in gear because since there is now a 10 yo, a 6yo and a 10month old - purse strings are being tightened and its bens birthday this month so Im on the competitions and anythgin won suitable will go aside for his birthday and he wants money to spend in toys r us and a cake - simple stuff really.
Then I have Owens in June - he wants £200 towards a home gym! Told him hes getting FA else unless its won in a competition!
Then Holly's is in July but she wont get much as she'll only be 1 and her birthday is on a Thursday so going to take a cake along to her playgroup so she can share it amongst her little playgroup friends and she'll have a few bits and pieces.
Then after them its time to start saving and planning for Xmas! yes I know - strange thinking that far ahead but I have too - its a weird OCD planning thing.
Have taken stock on cupboards/fridge/freezer and posted it on my blog - was mortified - all stores well and truly depleted! Need a serious budget revise but determined to do it for the alloted amount.
Right, off to update blog and hunt out school uniform for little man who starts back tomorrow! :TTime to find me again0 -

Thanks for that;) my kids are 14,12 and 10 and we were married for 15yrs together for 17. I am now suffering for the choices we made as a family ie I worked part time when I could (gave up a fairly good job when expecting ds2) and was a housewife due to the horrrible hours my ex worked, I could never get jobs that fit around his shifts hours etc. This was decided together as i say ,but now he is gone I think he views everything as my choice and why should he give up all he payed for...humph. I wouldnt mind but I actually want him to find himself a home and be happy -but if he fights everything I say he is in danger of risking all that for himself too (as well as causing me and his kids financial hardship). He never was a very rational person so I dont expect much more from him but its still hard to deal with.
On a tough /os theme my french beans are sprouting:D!JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

I hope your getting advice from a good source Bertiebots. It is a shame it has to be like this though isn't it? Sounds like your a very calm and caring lady. I'm sure you'll get there in the end and together with your kids have a great future. Your obviously still young enough to move on. I have 4 boys, well men age 42, 41, 38 and another son who would have been 35 this year, he died 5 years ago and still miss him terribly. There father died 9 years ago but we were divorced. Yes i'm older than my ex partner. I'll be 61 next week. Oh dear! Well at my time of life now i would just like some peace. Now what are the chances of me finding a nice gentleman who wants to wine and dine me,put me high on a pedestal and treat me in a way i wish to become accustomed. All with no strings attached......ha ha well i can dream.
Havn't planted french beans but my runners and potato plants are doing really well. My flowers however are taking a real thrashing in this awful wind.0 -
Gailey you could make clafoutis with the plums/cherries. Sort of like a sweet yorkshire pudding with fruit in, and dredged with a bit of icing sugar looks dead posh
I'm sure HFW has a recipe for it - I think you have River Cottage books?

sammy_kaye18 wrote: »Oh stupid me - I meant blending the raw stuff then making up like ready brek but nice to know it is manageable as Holly and Ben love it for their breakfast and supper!
Plus save me a fair bit because based on the 750g box
Ready Brek brand is : £2.49
Mr T own brand box is : £1.49
Mr T Value Oats (1kg) is : 75p
Think its worth a try to save me almost £2!
I have porridge every day for breakfast (with or without fruit, rehydrated dried fruit, spices and/or golden syrup) and I always used to stick to Mr T's economy kind but have noticed in the last couple of years that the quality has gradually deteriorated until it is now almost inedible. My last two and a half bags were gifted to a friend who feeds industrial quantities, mixed with lard, to the birds on one of the nearby hills. Lately there have been lots more indigestible fibrous bits and husks and anonymous black things that I think are either oats or weeds that grow among the oats, but my DD says 'Oooh! Extra protein!' (spiders) :rotfl: I've also noticed that it doesn't sustain me until lunchtime any more, so now I use the kind with the religious name, or or for a real treat, the organic sort with the name shared by a middle eastern country and a well known model. The latter might not lend themselves to blitzing, as I find they take longer to cook unless presoaked in a little hot water. As far as the price goes, any porridge is a cheaper option than most alternatives, especially when compared with boxed cereals, and it keeps you hunger free for longer.0 -
Hi Bertiebots and fightyeighter, just to say hang in there, things will get better. I had the same scenario with my ex. He was physically, mentally and financially abusive and he expected to get half of the house! With the help of a good solicitor I managed to get things sorted and we were both able to move on. Talking of porridge, I too have noticed that some of the economy own brand oats have become inedible. Like Charis I've had to go a bit 'upmarket' lately!0

I am on a mission to use up my stock of weird and wonderful foodstuffs and stop buying. Googled BM recipe sites and got recipes for potato bread, choc and nut loaf and apple bread. The potato one is in Bm now. Also Mum gave me a jar of ginger marmalade so found a cake recipe for that too. Whoopsied pork in cooker, potato skin crisps with it, and a huge stew in the slow cooker. I will not be beaten! All these months of stocking up is about to pay off.
I got Mr M quick cook porridge oats, 79p a kg, takes 4 mins in micro ( I hate the way porrigide welds to a pan!) Oh has it with honey usually and it seems to settle him before he takes his meds.
Had yet another trip to see Mum despite Ds visiting yesterday but it has to be done. My brother( 5 mins away from her) hasnt been near all weekend! Bonus was she managed to get us a proper cot for Dgs to use here instead of the travel cot, bargain at a fiver from Cs. Took Dgs and ds with us so she is amazingly happy after seeing all the family in the last 2 days. At 81 she deserves to have company on long Bank Holiday weekends.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0
