I may be imagining it but I could that back during the discussions about buying flour in bulk and storing it, someone posted a link to a place for buying sacks of flour. I've been back to post 1850 and can't find it. Anyone who remembers what I'm talking about and can point me in the right direction, I'd be very grateful
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

The post earlier about Vertical Veg (sorry can't remember who it was that posted it :o) reminded me of this concept I'd heard about a while ago : Square foot gardening. I did a version of this once, but the amount of wireworms & ants etc we have in our garden made it pointless as everything just got eaten :( Nextdoors "garden" is overgrown so much he has 2 trees, a cherry (not edible) and a sycamore (taller than the house) in a garden which is <10mx10m! I swear even Kym & Aggie would run away screaming if they could see the place :( So everytime I try and do something nice in our garden it seems the bugs come over from his into mine and munch it all  Nothing I can do about it though, we have tried

I'm getting tempted to try again but I think I'll just try reigning in the grocery shop first and getting the inside of the house sorted out.

Cross today as I'd like to be outside finishing the garden but it is SO HOT - 29 degrees on the patio - that I have fled indoors.

The sad news is that this means I'll have to do some housework, though I am tempted just to curl up and sleep :(

Have to go now as stupid DD is trying to wreck my post. She is bored. Half term is over :T

Corblimey, its good to have you here, my Mum always said ' its not being alone thats the problem its not having someone to tell you forgot to buy milk!" In other words its the simple things (she has been a widow for 25 years) so we are here for you to chat to.

saveabob, we could all see you were obviously in some distress yesterday, we werent ignoring you we were changing the subject until you got through your personal crisis. You sound much better today :)

As a goth I find my ideas don't often tally with others, as an old styler people don't get that either except here. My rule is never discuss politics or religion so I keep out of those discussions.

Right off to make the house Dgs proof and pick him up for my weekend of chaos. :T:T:T

laineyc I have worked in a few non chain French restaurants in my day, and would strongly advise you to call up before you go, and ask the manager or maitre d'hotel if they can offer you a vegetarian meal when you arrive. Some dishes which "should" be vegetarian to the untrained eye will contain animal fats or stocks, but they will happily do you something off the menu if they have advanced warning that you are coming - if they don't have a proper non meat dish available. For example, one place I worked in did amazing stuffed crepes with a wild mushroom sauce with garlic and cheese. Unfortunately the chef used chicken stock to thin the sauce out, and never thought to tell the waiting staff. He was happy though to make one for a customer (or me) without it if asked. I find that most decent restaurants are happy to make something suitable if you have particular dietary need, especially if you call in advance.

:( Just nipped out to the charity shops to see if there was anything fantabulous and instead found a steady trickle of water emerging from underground on the far side of the block.

I mentioned back in January that we had the 5 inch water main blow and we were nearly flooded, and it's the same spot. The engineers told me that there is a 3 inch and a 5 inch main under there and if it's the bigger one.......pressure drop, water off and a big prob for the groundfloor flats on that side.

Send happy thoughts, I have reported it to the water company, hope all will be mended soon.

It's scorching hot here too so I must stay indoors (saves a few pennies' worth of suncream anyway....:rotfl:) and do SOME CHORES.

Wow, so many pages to read, we are having a day off today as I collapsed and was rushed to hospital yesterday. Seems so silly, my toothache is just getting worse, painkillers were not touching the pain, and dentist refused to help as I had one day of antibiotics left. When I collapsed and was sick my dad decided to intervene and sent me to walk in centre who rushed me to hospital. I now have strong painkillers and two sets of very strong antibiotics. But am very weak and can't walk. House big move day now postponed till tues.

On the plus side the new house is lovely, its warm and dry which this place never is, and seems very energy efficient. This week we have managed to decorate the rooms that needed it and the builder has been amazing, he has built the fifth bedroom and gone on to do adaptions we needed for ds7, listening to our problems and helping us solve them. He fitted recessed lights into areas where ds could climb and reach them making the house so much safer than we have ever known.

We have missed the family wedding today and will probably never be spoken to again for letting them down which upsets me but am incapable of walking so it wasn't an option.

The plants all moved safely and are growing so well it lovely to see.

Our internet is disconnected so am using my phone to keep up with u all when I can. Sending wishes for the weather you all need most:)

http://www.dovesfarm.co.uk/sack-flour/sack-flour/ This is where I buy all my flour from. Quite pricey but really lovely. I tend to go halves with a girl at work.

Kidcat. Just take it easy. Was it all related to your tooth?? The family should understand especially as your dad was there.

It is soooo hot down here today but has now become overcast. I hope there is a downpour tonight. Unfortunately we are going to a black tie do and in this heat really do not feel like getting all trussed up like a turkey!

On the plus side, in the garden I have a whole fence panel of beans. The squash have gone in as have the courgettes and I have more ordinary tom plants than you can shake a stick at! The first strawberry has come through - and a bird has eaten it!! Netting is required!

Fingers crossed for you and your water GQ!
