This kind of thing is why you should not feel guilty about the book. It makes me cross that so little of what is donated actually goes to the people in need. Look at Haiti, people are still living amongst the rubble, very little has been done by those in power so where is the money?
Small charities tend to send more of the money they receive.

just read that article you posted. That's disgraceful! people give that money in good faith, not expecting it to go into the boss' back pocket!

do you know what happened to him?

he was jailed in 2006 article here

Another thing that amazes me is that if someone pleads guilty they get time knocked off their sentence but if someone says they are innocent and even after their sentence is up they still have to stay in jail or plead guilty, madness. If you have done the time then you should be let go even if you are pleading innocence.

I was looking at the house yesterday and thinking what I can do to improve the heat efficiency, think I will have to bite the bullet and get all of the curtains interlined, I have never done it before, and although it cant be that hard........I think I am a bit nervous lol!

Interlining curtains is easy, kimatatsu, just time- and space-consuming! It makes a tremendous difference, though. I have always interlined all my curtain and it does make a huge difference to light and heat. As I had 27 windows in my last house, my idea of hell is an eternity spent interlining curtains...

If you want the BEST instructions step by step, then you want Lady Caroline Wrey's "The Complete Book of Curtains and Drapes". If your library hasn't got it, I'll be happy to er find the relevant pages and send them across to you.

  • Re cheap suncream, I shudder at the price of soltan! I tend to get ambre solaire for me and the children and it is generally a lot cheaper in home bargains. I've never tried any of the cheaper brands as the children and/or I are normally allergic to them... I have to say, in our house, sunhats and long sleeved loose layers are employed more often than suncream. Cheaper and better for their skin.
:D Skint but happy with my lovely family :D

It is your duty to vote. Mrs Pankhurst and the suffragettes went to hell and back so that you had the right

Actually, I agree, if you want to live a democratic and free society it is your duty to vote.
