OS Daily Monday 4th April

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 4th April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I'm obviously really keen to get to work as I'm up at silly o'clock here. Still we break up on Friday, woo hoo.
DW is unloaded, eggs are on to boil for hubby's sandwiches, I shall put some home made biscuits in his packup too.
We had a lot of rain yesterday evening but most of the weekend was warm & dry so we got lots of gardening done & 3 loads of washing dry on the line.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Everyone!
Today is a good day... I stepped on the scales... and my loss to date is now just over 7 STONES!!! OMG!
That's 77% of the way to the ultimate goal I set myself 2.5 years ago... and I feel like I might actually get there!! Only 2 stone 1.5lbs to go!!!!
Anyway, the weekend was lovely, the weather held until last night, went for a long walk with a friend on Saturday, and yesterday I had breakfast in bed, then went to Church in the morning for the Mothers Day service (Where DS gave me Daffodils), after I played with DS (Harry Potter Lego... very good game!) then DS and I made Lasagne for dinner before going to Church for the Evening Service. All in all a great day
Today... PT working starts... How very exciting!!! I will walk DS to school then boot up the computer and work the morning! This afternoon I will do the washing and tidy the house before heading off to the school to listen to DS Brass Concert and taking him home!
Dinner is Butternut Squash Soup tonight, I better get the Dough out of the freezer for the rolls...! I also have to make bread today before we run out...!!!!
Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning ladies. Hope you are all well.
Looks like it may be a good day today weatherwise.
I have Monday and Wednesday this week with the brood in school/nursery all day and I have no appointments :T so I will be at home all day to crack on. I am going to get on with the littlies bedroom. The spaces on the floor that I had when I finished last weekare now covered up where the junk has spread out into them so I feel like I am starting from scratch, with any luck though I will be finished on Weds, or as near as damn-it. So look out for my lists
DC2 is taking the Kenyan stuff to school today and DC3 is taking his easter bonnett in to nursery.
Julie, well done on that weight loss. You must be so proud.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

Morning all,
Looks like its going to be a beautiful day here :j, think there might have been a touch of frost in the night.
Need to have a quick clean through, and do an online shop, I will then go up to mums, they have had a skip delivered and I will go and help clear the rubish from the garden, they have got themselves in a bit of a mess. The garage was done on saturday, hopefully the house will be next :T
Had a really nice lunch yesterday, dad was on top form :T, my darling dd bought me the hairy bikers cookbook, bless her spent all her allowance on me, so I shall sit and have a read of that later on, sis and bil did not come for lunch, but I had already prepared everything, so a very easy dinner tonight, I have roast chicken and pork roasties, yorkshires roasties and gravy left, I even have the veg prepared, so just need to heat it all up.
Have good days all xx
edit: Julie G, well done what a fantastic amount to loose xxxx0 -
Morning all, looks like a beautiful day here today :j Got to get the washing mountain tackled so machine going on in a mo, which obv mean more ironing
.
We are on easter hols up here but DD has swimming lesson at 9am this am so will be off to sit in the heat up there...lol
Then home and look for a new baking recipe to do, meal plan for the week, more washing and general tidying up everywhere.

Morning all!
Glorious sunshine again! House was so warm when I got up that I thought the heating was on lol! Please let this be the start of lovely weather, all ready for the kids hols
Made it to the garden centre yesterday, bought a very pretty dicentra, and a few other bits, just need to decided where to put it, planted everything else out though, just in time for it to rain and save me watering! Then we had a big roast dinner and pootled about for the rest of the day! Had horrible indigestion and back ache when I went to bed, but have woken up this morning feeling fine, so yippee!
OS stuff today will involve lots of washing as always, though we got through a fair amount yesterday, S&S the kitchen, and hoover through. Really must get round to clearing out some drawers for Spudette's stuff too, my room is awash with baby things at the mo!
Dinner tonight will be chicken curry for ds, dd2 and dd3, and quorn curry for dd1 and me - dd1 has decided she wants to be veggie, not a big problem as I am anyway! Pud will be a cherry pie from the freezer as I need the space in there! Not perhaps the obvious menu for a sunny day, but the kids have all requested curry!
Have a good day all xxxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Clear bright and sunny here but not sure about the temperature as haven't ventured outside yet. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Lunch seem to go down well yesterday, had clean plates all round so can't have been that bad! I cooked lunch for us and MIL & FIL as first year without MIL's mum.
I completely prepped all food, cooked it, served it and cleared up afterwards with no help from anyone! Good job childminder had done something with DS2 as DH hadn't bothered to sort anything with boys - he'll be first to moan on fathers day/birthday if he hasn't got anything, he can be so selfish sometimes, grrr...... sorry moan over.
Dinner tonight is fish, chips/jacket potato etc, so easy dinner, will need it as work will be extremely busy as first Monday of new council tax year, lots of people paying - queues, people moaning coz they have to pay, don't agree with it etc ...... gonna be a long day I think!... Have a good one everyone.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning all. Sorry for grumpy posts over the weekend, wasn't feeling at all well. Much better now thankfully. Gorgeous weather here but rain and wind forecast, so have already been out in garden tidying up. Got last nights wet bed (DS2) on the washing line drying and have made packed lunches for boys.
Julie - THAT IS FANTASTIC WEIGHT LOSS. How did you do it? Can you share your secret please?
Today is a day of catching up on the housework, ironing etc that I have missed cos I was ill. Going to sort through the boys toys too and confine them to one room. That includes OH's things! Got loads of things on ebay yesterday - selling, not buying! And when I looked through all the bits I've accumulated I've managed to get more than half my christmas presents already! I know its a bit early for that, but Thursday was OH's last pay day in the army - the last definate paycheque so I wanted to get as much as I could in advance.
This morning when the boys are in school I'll be righting my greenhouse that the wind blew over last week and seeing what I can hope to save. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Then its a quick blitz around the house - whilst making lists for what needs a more thorough clean. Our shower is first on the list as there is a mushroom growing out of the grout (eeek!).
Positive vibes to all those in need. Going to be a great week!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0
