I
The abortion thing I'm not sure I get. You can't just be taken to ask for an abortion.
I haven't had an abortion - he made the appointment & took me, but waited outside... I haven't arranged one, so I guess it'll be more understandable now if he leaves me, as I'm going against his wishes0 -
I think posters have made me realise that I need to have an abortion. I just hoped he'd come round to the idea, now I realise I'm just being selfish0

How long ago was this appointment and have you discussed why you haven't arranged what I presume was a mutually-agreed termination?0

lookingforsun - i'm a bit confused - did you not fully discuss how each of you felt, and come to some kind of agreement between you, when you first found out you were pregnant and before your OH took you for an abortion?0

Three weeks ago. It wasn't a mutually agreed decision. We both agreed that we wanted more than just DD, as I don't believe that being an only child is great for the child. We just didn't bank on me getting pregnant so fast.
He just said that he didn't want it and wanted me to get rid of it, I realised how serious he was & was too shocked to say anything. Now I'm too scared0 -

No we never discussed it0 -
Does your husband know that you have not had an abortion?0

I'll be honest. I had a son 20yrs ago, and despite trying, never had another (was told I wouldn't by gynaecologist). I fell quite quckly for DD. I told DH I'd never have an abortion, which is why I'm so shocked. He hates that I gained weight with DD, and admits he doesn't fancy pregnant women0

You really need to talk to someone about whether or not you want to have an abortion or continue with the pregnancy. This is a huge decision with ramifications whatever you decide.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Don't have a termination just because someone else wants you to, or because you fear he'll leave you otherwise.
If you want more children in the future, think long and hard before you go down that road: you could end up having an abortion that you don't really want and still end up without him.0
