So now you're annoyed that a buyer mightn't complete a sale, but its perfectly ok for a seller not to? It gets better!I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0 -

Spam spam spam spam.
I had a look at the ebid forums. What do I find? A thread about tit-for-tat feedback. Threads going back years that suggest that the tide is turning and people are flocking to ebid.
I looked at the OP's auction. I can't see any negative feedback. It may be there, but I couldn't find it. The seller's profile shows 0 feedback.
After looking at the ebid forums, the whole thing is starting to look like a cult to me. The emphasis on "recruiting" friends and family. The calls to go out and spread the word to other forums. The paranoia that when the spam and BS is rightfully criticised, that these are labelled as vicious attacks by those in the pay of the great evil ebay.
I am appalled that ebay has an effective monopoly on online auctions. But, as things stand, there is no credible alternative. I do not believe that ebid is a credible alternative. I've looked at the actual forums, and ebid seems to me to be full of Don Quixote types tilting at windmills.
Google could create a new auction site easy. And with ebay's fee increases, there must be the possibility of undercutting ebay but still making a healthy profit.0 -
I had a quick look at the ebid forums. Most of them appear genuine and realistic in their approach, not like the 2 posting here. There are plenty of long standing ebid members stating that buyer numbers are low and not to expect huge sales like on ebay - contrary to what our 2 visitors here keep claiming. Here is one of the threads, there are plenty more...

scotchebidder and martinknowsnowt - you really should think long and hard about the old saying "When you are in a hole, stop digging"! You could have come on here and made a real difference to the image of ebid. Instead you have made ebids image many times worse on one of the largest forums in the UK! You have potentially put 100's of people off from ever visiting ebid. Talk about a wasted oppurtunity! I know you will not listen to anything I have said here, you never do - but as I said before, if you really think you have helped ebid then all the best with that!
It sounds like martinknowsnowt dislikes Martin Lewis and has always had something against this forum going by his forum names - he is the same person as martinthegit on this other forum - http://www.thewholesaleforums.co.uk/forum/ebay-and-online-auction-discussion/118896-ebid-7.html
RussJK - perhaps you should post a link to this thread on the ebid forum to let their community know what damage these 2 are doing to ebid!0 -

Bit schizophrenic are you?scotchebidder wrote: »- Sorry as a new user you are not allowed to post with links. This is done to stop spammers clogging up the site. Please edit your message below to continue.
or post the url with spaces in as other newbies do? as others have said, I can't see any negative feedback displayed either
how many buyers does ebid have again as i said earlier go look on the user count yourself
Based on this and previous threads, the answer is hardly any due to the type of sellers on there and the lack of marketing effort by the owners (having successfully persuaded so many sellers to part with up front fees first, they can just sit back and tell sellers to self promote on other forums
no i dont speak for every ebid seller witch you know very well i dont but im sure after seeing some of the posts on here they would not want to deal with the people who posted them, just a hunch. but who would, like the person who threatend to auction wreck one of your members here thats disgraceful in my book
whereas auction wrecking by refusing to sell is completely acceptable and must be hushed up so as not to scare off the very few buyers that visit ebid
Also, can you use capital letters and full stops?[/ no
here's a link to help you improve your life choices and chances.

So as far as I can see I am happy therefore that the OP has stated the facts. A negative was left, and can be seen if you dig, but has been removed from the sellers overall feedback that shows to general buyers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
