£47 /month is quite low for both fuels, surely you were paying a similar amount previously with British Gas.
You won't be able to get a cheaper rate anywhere else. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Maybe not, but i can't afford to pay for the fuel in advance, that was the whole reason i switched, i honestly thought it would be saving cash on my quarterly bills, this does not seem to be what has happened.
The whole energy business confuses me, i can really say in all honesty i had no idea what i was signing up for, had i known this would be direct debit payments i would have refused point blank. Too much jargon for me i just trusted money supermarkets recommendation and went with it.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -
with respect, isn't it easier to have paid the bill in monthly instalments rather than having to pay it all at once each quarter? I don't really see how it would make a difference for you...0

I hope at least you now know what you have signed up for. SP will want a regular monthly payment of £47.
I would be wary of cancelling the direct debit and try to come to an amicable agreement with them. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

No, i pay every 2 weeks on a payment card that i get issued, its free to pay at pay points or at post office, if i get a electric bill for £50 i spread that out over 3 months and pay what i need to, its how i have always worked.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -

They don't listen, its "sorry for inconvenience" from them, but no other options are offered, this is why i wanted to contact someone else they are not a bit helpful.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -

trying actually ringing them and saying you want to cancel your dd, it might be that they have to move you onto a different tariff to do this though.0

For once I have some sympathy with an energy company. They probably just haven't a clue what you're complaining about or what you want them to do.0
