Thats is good going then, I pay my gas bill monthly, if it is below £70 this month I will be pleased, you may have to share tips on how to get such a low consumption for a year, however that said the figures seem correct, and as #3 suggests, you maybe misunderstanding the bill that was supplied, this is how it usually works, you pay £47 per month after month 3 you will be £141 in credit, butby then the bill is due, so they will deduct the bill amount from £141 and that will leave you in credit or arrears which should balance up by the year end.
That may be the problem then, so who do i contact to complain or get this direct debit off? I pay for what i use, never ever direct debits. Scot power don't seem to listen there must be someone else?Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -
paying by direct debit will apply discounts to your account when you're billed. Being on duel fuel will apply discount to your account when you're billed. Thus explaining the savings!!!0

The account that Money Supermarket? put you on with SP is an on-line account that must be paid by Direct Debit. It was a lot cheaper for you because it was an On-line DD account.
That is why they asked for your bank details.
SP have done nothing wrong, either Money supermarket did not fully explain matters to you, or they did and you failed to understand. It also appears you didn't read emails which would have told you about the amount and timing of your DDs.(the one you now quote - but didn't in the other thread.0 -

I think that is the problem, they are charging me in advance on direct debit i have never done this before and it is too much, i will contact scot power one more time, and explain i can't do it, and if they continue with direct debits they will find it rejected, that is the best i can do.
Thanks all for the replies i think i know what to do about it now.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -

That's the point with monthly direct debit, you will always pay in advance because you're actually billed every 4 months roughly. You could see if you can reduce your DD installments but you may find that when you're billed you have some money still to pay if the monthly instalments haven't amounted to enough to pay your bill(s).
Good luck.0 -
Using your figures, all be it for my area Scottish Power Online saver 13 (12 has been replaced) represents a saving of 23% over British Gas Standard Tarrifs, and is the cheapest tarrif on offer.
It has to be managed entirely online see below:-
Under the Online Energy Saver 13 Offer, your prices are guaranteed to remain below ScottishPower's standard monthly Direct Debit gas and electricity prices until 30th April 2012. Please note that your monthly payments may vary depending on how much energy you use. Scottish Power may apply cancellation charges inclusive of VAT of £30.64 for electricity and £20.42 for gas if you switch to Online Energy Saver 13 but then cancel your supply contract or switch to another tariff before 30th April 2012. These charges will not be applied if the supply contract is cancelled due to a home move. Online Energy Saver 13 customers need to manage their accounts online, and submit meter readings at least once every 90 days. The estimated savings figure on the results table assumes tariff rates and discounts remain the same for a year. However, from the 30th April 2012 Scottish Power will either transfer you to the closest equivalent offer available or their standard gas and electricity offer, either of which may be more expensive than Online Energy Saver 13.
Note there are cancellation fees, so if you want to swap you may have missed the boat. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

I'd prefer just being billed quarterly as usual, it gives me 3 month to pay it then, i will see if they take it seriously first, thanks for the help.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -
