..I have been with them for 13 years or so and are more than happy with their service, but the connectiuon speed is only 54mbps shouyld this realistically be higher? I have microfilters on both phone socets but not on the master socket as i cannot get to it(too far away)

I connect to the internet using a thomson wireless router

    TIA

    clive

I would assume you are on MaaF 5gb / month download limit too, now if you wish try this
Ask them for a MAC code so you can leave, because someone else is offering a better deal with 10gb limit. Then tell that them you are moving to PlusNet (same company different tee shirt) and voila you will get 10Gb / month and smaller cost and basically the same service. Plusnet also don't measure downloads between midnight and 0800 so you can do all your iPlayer downloads overnight.... and all sorts of other downloads. I changed mine and of course there was no cutover delay etc, just £5.99 (in my case) less per month as long as you take out 12 month contract oh and ask for the three month discount too, and if they are a LLU on your exchange then it gets cheaper check out on https://www.plus.net. I hope this helps but do not tell them I said so unless you sign up using my website and I get 25p/month discount :D but of course you would have to find it first and it is nothing like my username and it's not in my profile either, I just hope this helps like everyone else on here. I have been with them since the old dialup days when they were totalise and I used to dial 0845 numbers.

Goodness I am rambling , have a good weekend...debit (ps the good weekend applies to all the good guys/gals)

Yep-did that last week, and i got a price of £17.49 including line rental and VAT. that said, I emailed my dad telling how great it is (he's also been a MAAF customer for years) and he emailed me back, saying he only pays £14!

is this what you all mean?
    DSL
    ATM
    PPP
    IP
    Internet
    Connectivity to Gateway (195.166.128.138)
Connectivity to DNS Server 1 (212.159.13.49)
Connectivity to DNS Server 2 (212.159.13.50)

    or this:
    DSL Connection

    Link Information

    Uptime: 0 days, 1:42:18

    DSL Type: G.992.1 annex A

    Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 7,616

    Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00

Yes, can you also see figures for Attenuation up/down and Noise margin up/down.

From what you have provided you are synchronising with the exchange at 7,616 Kbps.

I'm guessing in view of your speedtest results that you are not on an LLU product so suffering from some throttling in BT's network.

You could try running speed tests at different times of the day.

If you do an exchange search on Samknows you may find an alternative LLU provider.

No, I an NOT "Pulling your chain" as you put it. You clearly are used to doing this kind of thing, but I however, am not!
You have posted some of the line stats but not the important ones.
    DSL Connection

Why didn't you post the rest e.g.
because i dont know what I am looking for, THATS why!!!!!

The details you are looking for are:

    ~ Sync Speed (Connection Speed)
    ~ Attenuation (atten)
~ SNR Margin (Noise Margin, Margin)

~ Details of any CRC/HEC errors or errored seconds may also be helpful

If you are connected at 7,616kbps then your speedtest result of 2.750kbps is crap!

Repeat the speedtest while connected to the router via Ethernet.

Since you are clearly in the right page of your router interface for the stats, why don't you just copy and post everything that is shown there?
