Task List :
[STRIKE]
Laundry[/STRIKE] Need to get that in off the line in a bit
Ironing - later
Clean bathroom - later, tomorrow maybe ...
Clean kitchen - later, tomorrow maybe ...
Wash floors - see above
Tackle paperwork ( progress, file or bin) later definitely
Declutter stuff for charitizing - yeh yeh, later
Make & eat some yummy food - ah, now that I have done, & will do more of as well
Get outside & enjoy the weather - Also done
Well as you can see, it's not been the most productive of days :rotfl:
Postie delivered stuff that I had forgotten about admitting to buying on ebay.
One lovely green flowery top that looks ace with jeans & red cardi. Cost 99p.
One long floaty skirt, very long actually so heels needed. But very pretty & ideal for those days when you haven't beautified legsalso cost 99p.
Hung all the laundry out & decided chores could wait until after dark so dragged DD for a walk along the canal to next village. Had a wander round the gift shop, charity shops, chemists looking for things to buy with my £5 off voucher - nothing. did buy some scented pens for DD &
Wandered back again enjoying the sunshine & being out & about - just a shame DD didn't feel up to a trip to London today as the weather is gorgeous. she denied feeling any better for having been out for a few hours, but she looks a lot more colourful than this morning & has eaten plenty since coming home.
I'm off to gather in laundry & then get some ironing, tidying & paperwork sorted.
There may well be wine & hula hoops tonight as a 2 mile meander counts as exercise on a saturday.

That sounds a lovely day after all! I'm glad to hear there were not many chores - lets leave it that way, eh?2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I don't like spending a lot on hoovers - well actually I've never actually bought one. When I moved into my flat, my sister asked if I wanted a Dyson - turns out she fancied the new swanky roller ball one and so I got her old one. Which is perfectly fine for me!!!!! In fact another friend offered me her old Dyson as well - she had had major works done in her house and she decided it was too dirty to be used anymore :rotfl:after the builders had been using it..
So who knows, maybe one will find it's way to you somehow without having to spend out on one.....
I bought some photo frames at Next last week having finally got round to spending a gift voucher for a birthday from some time ago. Then got home and discovered they were the kind for standing on a shelf, not putting on a wall which is what I wanted them for.
I took them back today to one of those Next Home stores and wandered round and look at everything in the shop (took ages) and couldn't find anything I wanted at all :eek:
I've got some really fixed ideas for what I want in my bathroom and I must be really out of step with the times as I can't find what I want anywhere!!! .... oh well......at least I'm not spending!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Hi makeup, how annoying about the photo frames
.
You don't strike me as the kind of lady who really worries herself over other people's opinions so I recommend you keep searching for items to do your bathroom your way & never mind about what's on trend right now. Surely that would only really be necessary if you're doing up to sell ?
I've never had any interest in branded hoovers ( ha, the irony) until we had that flea drama & I realised that perhaps what we have is fine for human occupation, but with a pet maybe we should have something a bit more serious.
I introduced DD to the wonders of Footloose tonight she thought it was great, especially when I pointed out SJP to her. We watched The Lost Boys a couple of weeks ago & it amazes me at how young I was when these films came out.
You'll be very pleased Karma, to hear that only one chore/task has been done, the ironing. I started on the delcuttering but then hunger took over & we had a delicious quorn curry. DD has homework to do tomorrow so I shall potter about & get a few things done then.
Right now I'm taking up the hem on that new skirt ... it's gonna take ages.
Keep forgetting to say that I asked in local sewing machine shop if they were interested in the electric one I have that's set into a table. Sadly not, the man said it's too old although it does still work fine.
Not sure what to do with it now as I'll never use it, but don't want to just take it to the dump ... & I can't lift it anyway.

I don't mind not being on trend with my bathroom (although quite frankly it is pretty darn amazing) however I'm getting fed up with trawling through the homewares sections of shops and getting no where!!!
Did you see they've done a remake of Footloose?? Seems to be very loosely based on the original from what I've seen and Footloose without Kevin just isn't right....
What about ebaying the sewing machine?? If there is no chance of that maybe freecycle? At least the person collecting has to pick it up!I've got my own flat :j:j

Yep, ebay or freecycle - and I'm hearing some word about gumtree round me, tho thats probably still quite patchy.
makeup - totally agree, I needed to tweak the soap dispensers I had (hark at me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) and it took forever. Have you looked at google images?
Lula, yes, I'm pleased with only one chore& curry sounds excellent. I usually just cook soybeans in my slow cooker and chuck them in other stuff, using them as the raw ingredients, since they're so important to vegetarians, but this time I threw in a couple of onions and loads of spices. Took out a portion and threw my home made sloe and apple sortofchutney into it, and it was lovely :j
Have a good one today
xx2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning all,
yes a nice easy start to the day with a bit of grand prix watching, some coffee & then a bit of trawling ebay where we found this fabulous item. I fully recommend reading the blurb as the seller has a definite way with words :rotfl:.
There is also this one which would be perfect for us, we don't mind the dog, but DD is less certain about the free man with it.
More sunshine here today & I think I'll throw an extra half load of washing in the machine now that I've taken up the hem on that skirt. I will now be able to wear it with flip flops in summer when travelling around in my Moroccampervan.
I am feeling very laid back & drifty today so struggling to get going. The paperwork scares me & the rest of the tasks bore me. I need to get to grips with making a CC payment too, but that involves sorting through the paper.
There's no way round it, I'll have to face the fear & tackle it.
Will investigate gumtree for the machine, I can't face ebay
bye for now.0 -
I might be interested in a free man
and I'm *definitely* loving the look of that Morroccan camper van :j:j:j
I too am bored by the tasks ahead, even the nice ones ... and now you've reminded me of ebay! Drat
Run and play :beer:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
OMG I want I want I want the burgundy one too :j:j - somebody take the credit card away from me! Or maybe we could come up with a timeshare arrangement?
Spookily I woke up this morning thinking of a friend of a friend who actually also appreciates VWs... haven't seen him in ages but may have to get in touch with mutual friend and drop hints just in case he's finally split up with his dimwit on-off gf
I have achieved my purpose for the day by staying in my PJs and worrying about nothing. :j Maybe paperwork could be tackled half a dozen pieces at a time, FlyLady stylee?

Wow ! All that & I did hoovering too :j.
Well, we had an early morning visitor of the tabby variety & this afternoon I spotted him in our garden having a good old scratch . I did tell neighbours our beastie had been infested & they said they would treat their boy. As I now know, treating the cat doesn't necessarily work first time & if you don't groom them regularly with proper fine tooth comb, then you don't know what is lurking under the fur .
Aaaaaanyway, the sun got smothered by cloud this afternoon which is why I got all the chores done. They don't take long and I break between each one to do something fun; drink tea, eat cake, browse ebay.
Whilst tackling the paperwork I was reminded that the TV licence direct debit of £37.62 goes put on November 1st, which I'd kinda forgotten about. The Virgin bill is nasty this month at £49.99. That was mainly due to chatting on the phone during the week, rather than at the week end when I have free calls.
Thing is, when I get the new phone, I get 5 x more the amount of free call time that I get now, so I won't need to use home phone at all to call out. I need to find out if the 'free' weekend calls actually have a fixed monthly charge & then get rid of them.
My current mobile bill is due this week BUT ... when I bought the new phone contract, the message was pretty clear that I pay the new price right from the minute I hit the pay now button. This means that the bill this week could be pretty damn scary so I need to make sure I have funds left to cover it.
I also wrote a cheque for a school photo on friday so need to make sure that's covered too. It's going to be a costly week so it's good we have all our supplies in & then I can get a few No Spend Days in.
Talking of which, I've had one today
Will be back later once I've done the sums & worked out how much I can pay off the CC.
