We buy any car dot con
You get 3 x times their price from any scrap dealer in the country!0 -
Can there really be any surprise considering they are part of Car Craft??
Both these company's should be shut down imo0 -
[facepalm]
For all of you moaning about the value they give you remember they are trying to buy stock they can retail - your 20 year old banger that barely starts will be worth nothing to them because it needs to go to auction and they'll get nothing for it, same goes for stuff with massive engines, epic mileages, etc.
They're only interested in clean cars under a certain age that they can stick on a forecourt and sell to someone on stupid% APR finance. In these cases people can be offered better than trade value for their car.0 -
Personally, i think they have come down too hard on WBAC.
The amount of cars i've been offered that turn out to need tyres, are CAT D, need bodywork, engine problems.
I can understand the basis as to why they have to price downwards.0 -
I dont like their ad where the customer says "we just sold a car... risk free!"
This article proves it's not risk free. But even before this news announcement, I knew it wasn't risk free. Unless the company gives you the money in cash before receipt of the car, then it's not risk free. They shouldn't be able to run that ad.You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
I sold them a 10 year old banger with LOADS of problems.
Yes to me it was risk free because those problems weren't obvious and they didn't even drive it, just did one circuit around the car park. Didn't look at the engine, tyres or underneath. Just as well really.
If I'd sold it privately, I would have spent the next two months diving behind the sofa each time the door bell rang in mortal fear that the big strapping Dad of the clueless youngster that bought it was coming around to beat me up.
My car was certainly not one you could have cleaned up and stuck on a forecourt. It leaked like a sieve and was full of mould, electrical problems and rust. It gave me good service, but I sold it with an empty fuel tank the day before the tax and MOT were due.
I think I did ok actually.
Steve.Hawkes@the-sun.co.uk wants to hear from everyone who has had experiences with this company. I emailed him but your experience may differ.0 -
they offered my BIL, £800.00 for his X reg MK4 golf 2.0 GTI, 48.000 miles, fvwsh, clean tidy no mechanical problems what so ever. they valued my friends car at a pittiful £150 ren clio auto 98000 odd on clock, on a 51 service history up to 2009 reciepts there after.
buy anything cheap to either scrap auction or to finance at something like 3000%APR.
need shutting down IMHO.0 -

There is price downwarda and a CON.
The biggest CON is they wont do an HPI until you take the car to them. Its at this stage the salesman try it on. WHen they get "this is the price I want take it or leave it they dont know where to put them selves....lol0 -
Oh yes if you take a car in and they offer you a price refuse it and ask them to get YOU a car for that price (plus a reasonable markup) They cant of course.............0

I wonder, if the usual suspects on here, who have recommended them, (swearing blind they offer fair prices and don't change their minds later on), feel somewhat different now.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
