Me too...he sounds as if he'll 'keep' though. Wants to do everything properly. ;)

Sorry to mention it again, but I'm off to the shop soon and may need a couple of extras, so has anyone any bright ideas about what to do with loads of coriander herb?

It's been very quiet here for ages...a bit scarey

Fresh herbs can be frozen (if you have room), I just stick them in a bag.

Things are going according to plan here. We've been spending quite a bit of money on decorating stuff but it needs to happen and it's something to get stuck into at the weekend rather than recreational shopping. I've "upcycled" a few bits of furniture, so I've spent cash on paint but it's cheaper than buying replacement stuff.

Easing up on the budget has been a great thing for us. We feel as though we have more money and it's very freeing. Whereas watching every penny made us feel a bit... resentful or miserly. We're saving more money than we would have done and doing more. Win win win.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Thanks, Alec Eiffel. They were a bit elderly and I thought they might go squidgy if just frozen 'au naturel' so they've been made into a pesto - have eaten one portion and frozen the rest.

Deep gloom today. Sorting out tax and realising that despite cutting corners just about everywhere, I haven't been sufficiently frugal, in fact I'm not sure I can make ends meet. The situation isn't helped by having some money coming in June (some work that I've done for a larger project) but not knowing how much it is (depends on sales) and not being able to find out. Droopy and disheartened as I thought I was doing OK, but now realise my accounting wasn't rigorous enough. Not by a long chalk! :(

For sad looking herbs I startle them with a bit of cold water then put them into ice cube trays with some water and free them that way. Although pesto is always useful to have in!

naughty Mr A duped me - I had printed off my voucher from the priceguarantee website but didn't look at it until today, when I noticed you have to take the original reciept with you - that was 2 weeks ago now, so of course I don't have that reciept!

Just had my latest gas and electric bill...and it is with great relief that I find I am still in credit. I now need to make some serious inroads into cutting down. In the last 18 months I haven't made too much effort on this score as I was still getting my head round being widowed etc. Time to get the maiden out, and turn the tumble dryer off. I've also bought some of those radiator drying things to go on the radiators. I don't have a washing line due to major building work being done to house and garden. It's finished now, so when my friend finishes his latest job I am going to ask him if we can manage to put a washing line up.
