So how many more days do you need petrol for, is it just today or the other days you mentioned as well?
I can see why you have a headache lol.
If you can't put enough petrol in the tank, which clearly you can't, then you have to put the money to one side in an envelope, jar, whatever but you have to forget it's there until you need it for petrol because without work there's no money. I wish there was a frugal petrol substitute unfortunately we're stuck on that front.
Good luck, do you have anything you could sell or as THE last resort pawn for a couple of weeks?
i need enough money to buy petrol until thurs.which would be £40
we had been doing well - actually paying a bit more off our loans etc - but a £600 of vets bills has messed everything up.Bit of a wake up call - again.oh the joys of life!
one of my other dogs actually went charging through my back door sunday - so we need a new back door too. glad the weather hasnt been too bad recently as we have a millie size hole in our back door and shes a mastiff so its a fairly big hole!! Another headache i am yet to deal with!Frugal living challenge - need to revisit its been.a while !! Need to reduce our debts!!0 -
Could you call in sick? Not like you are telling lies, you do have a headache.

Was so happy yesterday too - got atlantic to alter my gas bill and turned out i was in credit so theyve taken that off my electric bill so we only owe £1.86 for gas and electric. but now i have no money and direct debits that i thought had come out havent!!Frugal living challenge - need to revisit its been.a while !! OK so could you get an advance on your wages?
What is your OH doing to help? Could he borrow/sell something?
Otherwise how are you going to get to work? Is is far from where you live - I am assuming yes with the £300 for petrol a month.
I really feel for you, we've been through this before so I fully understand what you're going through.
Have you got any savings accounts that might have a little bit in them? I've got bits of money in a couple of accounts which I had forgotten about. Does anyone owe you any money?Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -

:bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake: Happy Birthday to me! :j :j :j
Well it's certainly been a birthday with a difference. After an awful night, I got up this morning to find my left arm had swollen to about 3 times its size.
Well, it's an ill wind as they say. I took DH into hospital, deposited him, collapsed laughing hysterically when I helped him dress in his gown and shorts (hole at the back!) then went into A & E.
Fortunately as the Cup Final was on, there were no Saturday morning football injuries, and I was seen after 40 minutes. After several tests, the doctor concluded I had been bitten by a foreign insect (did it have a passport?) and I was prescribed antibiotics and something to reduce the swelling.
Just got back, and intend to live it up tonight with
(a) fish and chips
(b) Eurovision
(c) chocolates
(d) strawberries and cream
and throw caution to the wind.

A few years ago i got 20 bites in one night on holiday in greece and was told by a pharmacist out there to take hayfever tablets (anti-hystamines) and to cut a lemon in half and rub it on the bites 3 times a day, till they stop itching. By the next day the redness had gone out of them Best advice i've ever had. Trust me It worked wonders. Any cheap hayfever tablets work. I use asda own now 99p
The other thing the pharmacist told me was if i'm prone to bites on holiday start taking anti-hystamines a week before i go on hols so they are already in my system.
when i went sharm el sheikh earlier this year i got bite everywhere. i heard washing with white vinegar keeps them away and use it to treat bites. also eating brewers yeast and marmarite 2 weeks before you go.i will be debt free, i will0 -
Learnt yesterday you can make dandelion marmalade- details on here
http://www.makeitandmendit.com/
That looks like an interesting site, Aril. Spotted a bit of an inconsistency in the marmalade recipe, though: it talks about citrus peel, but the photos show chunks of actual fruit. If you tried it, which did you use?
Minnie - is there a sympathetic relative who would help you out? Are you a member of a church or anything like that? Do you have a local LETS or skillshare group? If you don't know about these, they are ways of communities swapping ideas and energy but not necessarily money. Google and see if you have a local one. In addition to that, our town has a community email that goes out about once a day with people offering and asking for this, that and the other. There are often appeals for lifts. Maybe there's something similar in your area.
Sandra - good for you, enjoying your birthday despite everything! Many happy returns!'Whatever you dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin now.' Goethe

Happy Birthday Sandra!
More of a bargain couple of days than frugal ones - I went to a vintage fair, which isn't terribly dangerous for me as having lived through the 80's I have no desire to buy 80's clothes :-) The stuff I like is 40's and 50s and that is gold dust - anyway, I bought a lucite badge for £6 for my mum who collects them (and they are usually double the price), lucite is recycled airplane windows with flowers burnt into the back of it and set as broaches. And I got a pair of amber earrings for me - £5. Yesterday I bought 4 dresses for a tenner at the market, 2 for presents 2 for keeps, one is silk, one is a lovely versatile summer wrap dress, all good. And today I bought a solid oak victorian pull out dining table for a tenner! That last one has really made my day as I wanted a work table to get my sewing machine off the kitchen table - this is perfect! oooh and a Denby mug for 20p!
And my bank statement came and it all looks rosy0 -
Awww, Sandra, :bdaycake: sounds as if you've had a bit of a mixed day but your evening line up looks good! Hope both you & DH are feeling better tomorrow.
Quite pleased with myself today- went to Mr T armed with a £3 off £20 shop and a £20 note and came away with £1.35 change!
I was hoping to get some mince on offer as just about finished the last lot from Mr A - it just shows how careful you need to be as Mr A's 3 for £10 are packs of 1kg and the ones on the same offer in Mr T today were only 700g packs (needless to say, I didn't bother). That's nearly a kg difference in the amount you get (and a good few meals).Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -
