I have got curly hair and the technique as demonstrated on YouTube gives good, really well defined curls. Better in fact than I have ever obtained from a hairdresser, but OVERALL, I'm not convinced that spending the money wouldn't give me a better barnet. Infact one of my students asked me the other week, how easy it was to cut your own hair; I hadn't realised that they had noticed!
The reason for checking in here though in the middle of the afternoon was to say......(drum roll please)......
I got the promotion!!!!!! Can do smileys now I'm on a proper computer.:j:j:j

Right, back to work. Will look at the budget once I know what the extra work is worth. (may be a haircut)
Best wishes

Spent £7.45 in t's today as had to pick up anti b's for son, who has really bad toothache (@4 years old,
don't give small children fruit or smoothies, he has little to no enamel on don't teeth
)
Anyways, back to t's. Got milk @ £1.42 Grr... reduced cooked Bacon joint, reduced cooked ribs, bag of beg - cauliflower, broccoli n carrots, just a wee bag, will make soup with I think, bag of baby corn and a small bag of baby potatoes which where down to 10p!!! Everything apart from the milk was reduced
Going to make bubble n squeak for tomorrow dinner.
I had a disastrous nite out on Saturday.
My friend turned 30 and had booked 2 tables at a fancy pub, n they had double booked her so she booked somewhere else, me being late was the 1st to arrive haha, I go to walk in n their is a sign up saying 'wedding guests only, sorry for any inconvenience.' She only booked on Thursday, so they should have let her know . We go somewhere else, n pay £4 a drink - expensive for our wee town. I stay for hour n half as I have a joint 80th to attend, my cousins 30th n her bro-in-laws 50th. My sons godmother, my cousin, is babysitter. At 11pm I call to see that he settled ok. He's still up, and asking to come home, I can hear people in the background, and her 2 kids are still up. I end up paying £12 on a taxi to take me from one town to next pick him up and take us back to our town. I was raging! Could not believe they would have a party when it was the 1st time he was to stay with them and she knows I don't even like drinking when I have him in the house. Last time he will ever go their. So was home for midnight. Gutted. But son comes 1st.Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

Got back from a lovely swim a little while ago. Haven't been for two weeks first because it was half term an I thought it would be too busy and then because I suffered from about of can'tbebothereditis last week. Will get back into it now though.
Got some cobbled lentil soup on the go as soon as I got in and it was delicious. I added Tahini which they do at the Turkish and also some sweet chilli sauce.
I picked up some fitflops I had ordered from Boots in the sale earlier and in the space of five minutes they have done me an injury and made me feel quite sick with the toe post rubbing - they are going straight back!
I have heard so many good things about them I am very disappointed; does anyone else wear them?
Did a bit of spaving in Boots stocking up on Sanctuary stuff buy 2 get one free for the girlie's birthday in October and also on some face wipes. Here dead we lie because we did not choose

Are you feeling nauseous as well when you are wearing 'thong' fooftwear- meaning with a toe divider bit?
I thought that it was only me, I'm somewhat glad (sorry) that I'm not the only one with this problem..."NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS FREE FOOD"

I'm absolutely fine with some really cheap toe post sandals I've got from Primark last year - my sister in law bought me some last year and although I thought they would give me blisters just looking at them they were so comfy I bought myself some - the toe posts on these are really hurting and making me feel sick!
I only wore them for about five minutes but there was no way I could wear them for any longer!
I've just been reading the reviews and they are nearly all glowing although a couple of other people have said the same thing about the toe post. Here dead we lie because we did not choose

Puddleglum - whoop!!!!! huge congratulations!
Rubytuesday - I cant stand things between my toes but have you tried moleskin around the post - poundland has it in the foot care section.
With haircuts I think there is a huge difference between making a resolution to be frugal then spending over £30 on a haircut on a whim and planning in an expensive haircut twice a year. The woman in the book annoyed me because the whole essence of the book (the bits I could stand to read) were about her saying she was cutting back and still spending loads of money - I dread to think what she was spending to start with. I think if she was serious about clearing her 32k debt she would search out cheaper alternatives.
It's my resolution day - lose some weight, stop comfort eating my sons biscuits and declutter! We are still trying to relocate so even though no houses are on the market right now at least I can try and get our belongings whittled down.
Does anyone know when the next free listing day on ebay is please.0 -

I thought that it was only me, I'm somewhat glad (sorry) that I'm not the only one with this problem...
I find I can only wear the ones with plastic toe posts because the leather ones rub so much it's not worth bothering with....I generally buy Birkenstocks for the summer from TKMaxx (about £25) and have been in these for years (used to pay a lot more and get them from germany ). Yes there is some rubbing but it's like any decent shoe, you have to bed them in and be prepared to bed them in. I mean I got some gorgeous floral doc martens from eBay the other week and they rub on the ankle - but this is a common problem with me and DM's and like I know they just need an insole and they'll be fine...
Having said that I got some really comfy Timberlands (mary jane shoes - last pair left in my size) in TKMaxx the other week 1/2 price and they are soooo comfy. ..though won't last long due to the heels being not very good.
Otherwise try Land's End for shoes...they often have good sales on for bargains and they do half sizes.....I've had some cracking shoes off Land's end in the past and perfectly reasonable prices (less than £30-40 - even cheaper for Ballet shoes) and their customer service is second to none...I'm still in my clogs I got for slipper 18 months ago for about £5 off there and I shall wear them till they're no longer viable (not quite just yet).....I don't care their orange....they're just comfy and warm for the winter and far cheaper than ordinary slippers :T
