I tried Wilkinsons in Farnborough Hampshire nearest to where I live. No they dont sell it either. It really is elusive in this area! I am sure if I had been able to buy it, it would not seem so important, as it is now I really want BORAX!!

One of my Japanese colleagues is always accusing me of talking borax. Not a clue what he means.

Not my Boots! I have tried chemists and pharmacies and was told it is considered a toxic substance. I have tried old fashioned hardware stores and they dont stock it. In short I have tried everywhere now and given up.

I still dont know whether to go ahead and buy it mail order. I mean is it really worth having do you think??

A great fan of stardrops, bicarb and vinegar, I'd like to add borax to my list but can't find it anywhere. So far I've failed at supermarkets (asda and tesco) and also at the local hardware shop (which suprised me!). I was particularly suprised that the assistant (might even be the owner) tried to steer me in the direction of their HG products despite my having explained that I was trying to reduce the ammount of products in my cupboard. Have you seen how many different things HG make? I reckon I'd need at least 6 different bottles just to tackle my bathroom!
Sorry, back on track. In desperation I've even searched the shelves of a garden center that seemed to stock all sorts of strange bits - but no joy. Also tried Makro - would try Wilko's (assume it's wilkinsons?) but there's not one near me :(
Any ideas? Would the larger B&Q's stock it?
    Cheers,
