Havent posted for a few days, but just managed to catch up on all the goss :D

Well mother's day was a disappointment :( cos dp couldnt be bothered to sort out a card, flowers or anything. How are the kids meant to buy anything unless he helps them?? Had a go at him in the car and told him not to expect anything for Father's Day!

Luckily ds (7yrs) made a card and lovely poem at school or I'd have had nowt. The girls are at high school now so they dont do anything there now.

Saturday I ended up spending a couple of hours on the phone from 10am till almost half 12 trying to sort out an appointment with the out of hours gp service. My 15 yr old had a lump that had swollen up between her eyes on friday night, and when she woke up that morning she had a red lump under one eye too.

Turned out to be a boil so she's on antibiotics now and luckily thats calmed it down. Strange though cos she always takes her make up off every night but he did say that people with ezcema are more prone to them.

Then today she came home at 1pm in tears with her finger all swollen and bruised. Turned out that while she was out with her friends walking in the woods, some boys they didnt know started throwing stones at them  and one hit my daughter on her finger!! Texted dp at work and we went off to a&e for a few hours! Luckily its not broken but very bruised!

Keeping my fingers crossed there's no more incidents in the near future.

Back on topic - I've been invited to a Virgin Vie party and I'm tempted.....so tempted :o

WOW Kaz - that is a fantastic apron!!

And as for you xoxo - three cheers, hip hip-hooray, hip hip-hooray, hip hip-hooray. Well done - you must have 'super resist powers'

No UU for me today - but almost at the end of day 4 of no-beauty-spend-days. This thread has done wonders for my determination - I really don't want to have to come on here and 'fess up to being 'bad'. I REALLY want to get my stash down to a more managable size.

Talking of which - I have still not posted it. Was due to do it today but spent half the day on the phone with GP/ social services/ hospital etc. My grandad has just (finally) been diagnosed with dementia, so am now trying to find out what help/treatments are available for both him and my nan. She is in her 80's and runnung herself ragged looking after him at the moment. So, family came first - as it should.

My stash is still safe in it's little (ha ha!) hiding places around the house and will just have to wait another few days to be counted!

    Scrappie:p

Oooh I forgot to mention - I've ordered the 17 crackle and the matt finish top coat from Boots too! Didnt know what to get for the 3 for 2 offer, so ended up ordering a second crackle :D if it's good then I'm sure one of the girls will claim it, if not then it's off to ebay (have you seen the prices they're selling it for on there?!!)

Let me know how you get on with the glitter top coat please - I sometimes find glitter polishes feel weird being bumpy and it annoys me

Crackle on orange - I'm having visions of a tiger like effect? :j

Ooh SJP you're another camper?! Brilliant - we love our trips - gopt nothing planned until the end of May but then it's off to Cornwall for five nights on a fantastic friendly little site near Camborne. Then there will be repeated trips to Norfolk through the summer....! This is why I insist on having nice mini shower gels for my travel kit. I'm quite happy to spend several nights on the bounce in a tent, knowing that my morning shower will be in quite "basic" surroundings, but I like to know that the stuff I'm using in said shower will be anything BUT basic, thank you! :D

What a small world. I used to live in Camborne and my nan and grandpa too. It's also where my mum was brought up.

Finally, a UU to report! I finished up a pack of No. 7 Quick Thinking 4 in 1 make up remover wipes. WIBA? Yes, I think so, as they're handy to have around on days where I don't wear a lot of makeup and also for times we go camping when I need a quick freshen up. Admittedly, the only time I'd get them was if I had one of those £5 money off No 7 vouchers...

Hopefully more UUs to report soon!

  • Evening all,
Just popping by to report some UUs and 1 in.
    UUs:
Clinique Take the day Off Glamour freebie. WIB? Probably not, it was miles better than the No7 remover but I still woke up with some black around my eyes from my eyeliner. Am now using the L'Oreal eye make up remover, which is the last in the stash.
Nail varnish remover - now onto the last in the stash for this.

One in - Neutrogena Wave face thing and cleansing pads as on offer in Boots. I'm determined to buy nothing else this month. :)

I'm loving all the camping stories - I hate camping - too cold, wet and dirty for me :D I'd be a caravanner if I could drive tho' :D

Pudsey - {hugs} and Bah! to your OH  Hope your DD's lumps and bumps calm down soon :(

Scrappie - aw! your Nan must be well proud of you for everything you're doing for them :T

I forgot to mention earlier that I got a reply from Origins to my email about the lack of samples for recycling. It was very nice and polite and apologetic and they are sending me some samples in the post to apologise :j

And after all my hoo-hawing trying to find some de-tangling spray - it's now back in stock at Home Bargains in the flavour I love

My poor OH seems to be coming down with 'flu - and I'm off for 3 days leaving him to fend for himself :( He'll just end up sleeping on the sofa every night until the dogs drag him upto bed :rotfl:
