We started camping last year and have an outwell montana 6. Fab tent but it did get damaged last august in a storm on a cliff in Whitby. I had to get the sewing machine out in the garden and fix up best as i could, think easter will be it's first outing so we will see.
One problem we have with camping is other campers who turn up and pitch several tents together and then get pi**ed, and shout and swear half the night. We have had a few confrontations in the early hours and the first time we have one this year we are packing it in and selling all our stuff. We have 5 & 7 year old kids and they stay up lateish but are ready for bed for 9.30, we choose sites which say quiet time from 10pm or thereabouts but only one site we go to enforces it, not that they really need to because it's great. This site is Hayfield C&C in Hayfield, Derbyshire.
Any other campers find that too?The devil makes works for idle hands0 -

Righto finally up to date on everything now
Well what a mixed weekend...went to see Ed Byrne Friday night which was good, Saturday a lazy day and OH ended up picking up tonnes of holiday brochures. Sunday had a dash between the folks for mothers day, took up my sisters birthday presents too as I wont see her next week, but yet again she didn't even bother to leave her room as her and her bf were 'too hungover' apparently....Then to top it all off about 8ish they decided to just leave and that was it. Would have at least been nice at some acknowledgement, especially as I did bring her presents but whatever, she might grow up one day.
Feeling pretty lousy in more ways than one, hayfever is kicking in, Im feeling incredibly stressed over my dissertation - due in MONDAY! but really need to get it all finished by Friday as it needs to be bound etc, no idea how Im going to write another 3,000 words, nor have I any idea if Ive done it right at allOn top of that the general miserableness about no job/no money is really getting to me, especially with OH insisting we go on and expensive holiday - I really don't think Im getting through to him, everytime I say I cant afford it he say's he'll pay (although what he means is I'll then OWE him a load of money) Ive tried explaining to him that I dont even have enough to pay the rent or bills this month so unless he's going to be paying it (which he's going to have to) we'll have NOTHING left of his salary. Such a mess but as I said he doesn't seem to get it. To be honest he really hacked me off last night, hes been doing it for months - keeps making snide comments now and again about my apperance or hygenie or whatever 'oh that spot on your face is disgusting' 'take that jumper off you look ridiculous'.....last night he started on about the fact I didnt have a shower before bed - never mind the fact it was gone midnight before we got home and we were lying in bed when he started it, and its not like he showered either.... Part of me sometimes just wants to move back home (not like I have anywhere else to go) but 1) I couldnt hack it living back there 2) Id be even more bugered for a job as its in the middle of nowhere....

no inns yet this month! hahahaha
oh that sounds quite good! I'm forever getting colds, pretty sure I have somewhat of a low immune system, so i may have to look out for this when it next hits me....where can you buy it from? never spotted it before!0 -
Oh charlie, you poor thing. Just focus on the last 3000 words of your dissertation, then when it's in and finished with, then you can decide what to do about OH. It can feel very hard having to be financially reliant on someone else espescially if they are belittling you in other ways. Seems odd that he's making comments about your not having had a shower when he hasn't either though.
I got my drains cleared again thankfully so no hefty call out fee for me. I'm just waiting for my jeans to dry in the TD so that I can go and have a bath then I can get out to town to collect my parcel which wasn't delivered on Friday (cause I didn't get out of bed). I thought it was going to be a cutting mat but that arrived today and the lady postie said it wasn't a redilvery as it had no sticker on it so it might be my templates for cutting out my squares for quilting. The regular postie has also just delivered my mothers day gift. Naughty DH! I had found a Pandora bracelet ages ago that was reduced so I asked if I could get that from the kids for mothers day so he got that but then he went and ordered me the most lushious pinnie I've ever seen! I'll see if I can find a link..... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ulster-Weavers-Ginger-Shaped-Cotton/dp/B0040L09P6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1301918302&sr=8-1 it's lush! It even has pockets and a brooch made out of a ruffle and a button. I am THAT Mum who goes out in the road in pinnie and slippers to get the kids in for their tea but so is my neighbour

Please count me in!
I'm now up-to-date with reading this month's thread and have a few posts to make but not enough time to do it today. But I just thought I'd jump in quickly to say that I spotted some Champneys products in Mr B**ts on Saturday:j:eek:. They weren't included in any offers though and so I decided not to lurk. I'll wait until offers come around, especially as I used a Clintons voucher and Daily Mail voucher (free from my Dad's paper) in the BS to get a Moringa and LOVE etc. BB.0 -
sawan - how's the mice clearing going?
charlie - {{HUGS}} I agree - just concentrate on your dissertation for now and try not to let the other stuff stress you
Trudij - :rotfl: blessI echo Fiasco - just enjoy the ride :rotfl: I missed all of that with OH as I moved into to his house the night we got together
(been married 5 years and together 7 so I'm not a complete sl*t :rotfl:)

I'm intrigued ..... tell more :eek:Vicks bubble bath - WIBA? yes yes yes expensive but when loaded with the cold it does actually help!
I've never seen this either - but it sounds like something that would come in handy - I will be keeping an eagle eye out for it now
Didn't get my shiny gold Gok set yesterday - I got a lovely bunch of 'purple' flowersI'm a complete dunce when it comes to flowers - I know the basics - roses/tulips/lilys but beyond that I haven't got a clue
One small IN found when sorting out the christmas room - another half tube of Clarins Matifying Lotion - STILL have no idea what to do with it - anyone???
a couple of UU's:
Burts Bee's Body Lotion: WIBA? Someone else said that it is very runny - and it is! but it smells so gooooodIf I got it cheap like I did this one (ie: Free
) I'd use it but wouldn't pay full price
Burts Bee's Foot Lotion: WIBA? Despite the problems I had with it (it went all lumpy) it did make my feet lovely and soft - probably would yes
P&P Serum: WIBA? Yes - this is my HG - and will buy again when I can afford. There's enough left for tomorrow morning (have cut up the tube) and then it's onto the Aldi stuff
We had another productive day yesterday - finally managed to get dd's room and the spare room sorted enough to move the furniture around - so both rooms now look more or less how I want them to. :T Have a few more bits to sort out for charity shops but I'd say I'm 90% done now.
The rest will have to wait as I'm off to see my mum for a couple of days tomorrow - taking her shopping in Newcastle on Weds - she won't let me buy her anything but lunchbut it's just nice to spend some time with her
Still got my (yucky ) ear infection but - miracles of miracles - have managed to get a Dr's appt for this afternoon - so hopefully some anti-biotics should clear it :T
Hope you're all having a good Monday :cool:0 -
Aaarrrggghhhh
Just seen that the Spiced Vanilla stuff is back in stock for the BS sale  HELP :eek:0
