Its a spendy day for me today, had to buy some food at Mr T's, but I was very careful as I wanted to stay within my Weekly spend challenge.
I'm hoping for at least one NSD over weekend, but next weeks going to be harder with Easter hols coming up!!

Well, I went nowhere today, but DH bought a few supplies form the Asian and Oriental shops near his work, then trundled off to B$Q for a new grill for the BBQ and some more lava rocks...they've needed topping up for a few years now.

Got some weeding, digging up and replanting done in the garden, as well as watering everything (again, it's so dry here). I have also done some x-stitching, as well as ripping the seams of DS2's bew shorts to give him hims requested side-splits. Will sew them up with tape to re-enforce them tonight.

    Tea's ready, so night,night. x

Oh I know, I put petrol in my car yesterday and I'm really seeing the difference :( I am seriously thinking about cycling to work to save petrol.

Not quite declaring for today...but....it looks like it might end up being a NSD, didn't go out at lunchtime so that saved me from spending, and I can't think I'll need anything this evening so I might hit half way if I'm good and stay off the internet shopping.

Actually, here's a quick question - how many of you do your grocery shop on the internet? I never have and always think I'll forget stuff I usually pick up in store - but I'm thinking a) I can see my total as I shop b) I will mean I don't have to battle the supermarket at the weekend which would be nice.

I did do a few times, but had constant problems - so gave it up years ago, even when it would have been of use to me.

I had a number of deliveries from Mr T, but there were nearly always unsuitable substitutions - and if I said no substitutions I ended up with only half the ingredients for meals anyway !!! The final straw came when they forgot to load the chilled part of my order onto the van, and couldn't come back out with it until the following day. Given my delivery was early on Friday evening so that I could prep a bolognese sauce for the following night this was an issue as the missing part included the mushrooms. But it was an even bigger problem as we were going to be out all the following day - hence wanting to pre-cook the sauce. So I then had to go to my local supermarket, get the missing bits, pay for them (again), and wait for Mr T to (eventually) credit my card for what they hadn't delivered (and I didn't get any of the delivery charge back as compensation either  )

So I then tried a delivery with Mr A - and once was once too many. It included loads of meat, fruit and veg - enough for a family of 4 (including 2 teenage boys) for a whole week. But (with the exception of only one item) all those items had a 'use by' date of the next day. They also substituted 3x4pt milk with 3x1pt milk fool2.gif The lady I spoke to at customer services was great though, and they refunded me the cost of all the meat, all the fruit and veg, the milk and my delivery charge (letting me keep everything anyway, and luckily for me I actually had freezer space for all the meat though I hadn't actually planned to put all of it in there). So an A+ for the customer services team, but an total failure for the pickers/packers - and I wasn't prepared to give them a second chance.

Having said that, my daughter used Mr A on a regular basis for a number of years (and as she lived locally it would have been the same store dealing with her account as mine), and she rarely had any problems at all - just the odd unsuitable substitution which she sent back with the delivery chap for a refund.

I've done internet food shopping with Sainsbury's for a long time. I did use Tesco for a while, but wasn't impressed with their customer services. I like Sainsbury's because they deliver within one hour time slots, and if they are one minute late they give you a £10 voucher. I'm always quite pleased when that happens!!!
I did have a slight problem with them turning up early a few times, sounds daft but when you expect them to come at a given time, then it can be really inconvenient when they start knocking on the door earlier..

It's great when you need quite a big shop though.
