Someone in my family made a sarky comment about me last week saying "you know what Mrs Thrifty is like" and it has really been playing on my mind. I know she meant it spitefully but I'm trying to think, so what, being thrifty isn't a bad thing. Bah to mean spirited people :p

People attack what scares them - the fact that you're financially aware probably make her feel out of control. So think on it as a compliment :p

Ummm, I s'pose I could do that. Doesn't sound very tasty though :rotfl:

Think this is my first post oft he month, so a bit of an updat required. I would like to aim for 12 NSD for April, and I've bagged 3 NSDs already. Going to have to be a lot more NSDs though - April is an expensive month for me. I knew this from a while back so had planned for it, but still I'm scared by the already low bank account!

Oh dear....spendy day already.... needed (I ran out) some more heat defense for my hair (as I dry and straighten it evey day), 2 for £3.99 in Superdr*g, then Mr T where I splashed out on bread, beetroot, salad and an onion, and £1.20 in the market on a pepper and a corgette (fancy making a kind of fritatta thing this weekend after my friend mentioned it and it sounds yummy). So not a huge spend - but still not a NSD for me.

On the other hand, the sun has got his hat on here today and it's beautiful outside - only thing is I'm stuck inside with air con blowing on me :(

Good afternoon my lovelies, nice to see the sunshine again!

Having spent half the day in bed after a night shift, I can proudly report that Number 2 NSD is well and truly in the bag! I will try my best to resist the lure of the shopping emporiums tomorrow as I don't fancy another encounter with Bdini's paintbrush!

Grand National Day Saturday folks, how about we have an impromptu trip to the races in the Tardis? I am sure we will all fit in there (assuming that lazy mare Spoon has cleared out the cr*p after the last outing) and Igor is dead keen to supply the picnic - he's got a fab recipe (apparently) involving peanut butter and cucumber sandwiches with a raspberry coulis???? I do hope he's not going all Egg on Ronnie with me....

....Also I just spotted in Jnaden's siggy - she's getting married this year, and you know how we love a wedding on here. - Jnaden do you know it's compulsory to have a virtual hen-night on here? Plus we all get to "virtually" come to the wedding - I warn you it gets messy!
Oh I feel a th_Hat_with_flowers.gif hat coming on!

    Have a lovely day everyone!:)
How did I miss THAT  Maybe I need a new battery for my Hat-re-mo-knee Hilighter, unless we can nab Kerri's pesky meecer to run around on the treadmill :D OOhhh..that's just come at the right time, cuz while I was rummaging in me muvva's drawers I found one of those swim cap thingies with all the holes in. She's having a prune of her silk flowers too, so I'm sure I can knock up another eye-catching creation...*scuttles off to look for wire clippers & plasticine*

We've got some of that yellow stuff in the sky, so I was very pleased I had the reminder to get more soap powder & two loads of wash are outside on the line. Unfortunately, it appears the gravel one side & paving slabs the other have developed punk tendencies & are currently sporting various shades of greenery mohicans--a nasty down-side of gardening :( Can I borrow your digging equipment Keiss? I can't promise beetroot brownies but do a nice line in crispbreads :D

I can see no reason to part with as much as a penny for the rest of the day, so I'm going to be brave & declare today as nsd No 4. Tomorrow's probably a spend as I'm seeing muvva, & Saturday may not be..I'm not that keen on the ponies, but I'll keep an eye on the Tardis if you lot want to go to the Winner's Paddock, to make sure the spare shirts are safe for when you lose yours ;)

Now do you just want the forks, spades, trowels etc, or one (or both) of my lads to do the digging/weeding??

The 21 year old (cycling mad mathematician) can be a bit pernickety, but very thorough where weeding is concerned. The 18 year old (rugby player - front row) is full of muscles and brute strength, so if you need some heavy stuff moving, he's your man!!

They both moan about having no money, so I have threatened to hire them out..under my supervision initially though!! DS2 does work in next door's garden, though hasn't done for a bit, he got attacked by brambles last month...been getting him to work in ours first!! Their's "just" needs taking in hand (all shrubs, climbers and brambles)...I need our to produce food for us all, so that takes precedence atm!!!

Managed to get some weeding done this morning, as well as preparing a bed for the pot-grown garlic and my first batch of outdoor sowings...carrots and lettuce. Went to a friend's this afternoon....nice to have a natter for a bit!

Think I will have a go at planting some of the garlic before getting tea ready, then get DS2 to water all the pots this evening.,..everything is soooo dry!

    Have a good evening all.
