Elfen - being a Lushaholic myself, I think you can be forgiven for going there to stock up on all those little essentials. (You can also order stuff online, did you know?)

Suzie - be a cheapskate like me and buy a box of pretty notelets that can double as birthday/thank you cards. And don't worry about the numbers - set yourself a manageable target eg 8 or 10 NSDs then, if you reach target extend it by another couple and so on.

I do that for some cards- but haven't yet found some suitable for boys. I should have got more organised durig the school holidays.

You may be right about the target- but I wonder if I make my target too manageable, I won't have to make much effort to achieve it, and so won't do any better than I usually would!!

I stock up on the 7 for £1 cards at Card F*ctory, they have a pretty decent selection of b'day cards for kids amongst the selection.

....jnaden - well done for 6, you’ve done great!! Dust those hats off ladies, we have a wedding to attend!! Some of those yesterday were horrendous  And it looks like Andy's girl has inherited her mother's dress sense; WHY didn't somebody tell her she looked like The Riddler from B4tman with that huge pink ? on her head!....
cw18 – good luck with the race Cheryl!! Ditto!....
elfen – no I reckon if you use it & you will struggle to get it when you’re not living there, then not bad at all!!Ditto that ditto :p
Well; we turned over around 10:30 & watched not-that-closely till the news around 1pm. Her outfit & flowers were elegent & I thought she had the look of Arther's Guinevere :D Roared at the sight of t'charabangs leaving Buck 'ouse, & couldn't help noticing the differences between how Wills looked at his bride with obvious true affection, where his father's expression was rather lack-lustre 30 years ago on his Wedding Day...

Perhaps then, it may help to look at what you include in your Challenge. Kerri has now excluded filling the car & milk as she classes them as essentials, so is there something you have no choice but to spend? If it helps [& you feel comfortable sharing of course!] give us an outline of what your spending is & chances are someone has found a solution that you might not have considered :)

Okay. Fingers firmly crossed this post actually registers; the past two or three days they've been disappearing into the ether :wall: Yesterday my nsds became eligible to vote at 18 *sniffs into lace-edged handkerchief* they grow up so fast :o

Target missed, but not by a mile, and overall given how pear shaped the month seemed to be going by the middle, I am not too dissappointed.
Debt Free since Nov 11 (ish) (except the £118000 mortgage :o) as at Jan 2013 but still hanging around DFW as I need to Stay On Track.

    :hello:

    Hi all NSDers xxx

Coming in to say I have made it!!!!! Number 15 today :j:j

I have a day off :), I have lots to do in the house, the sun is shining, back door is open and Lara (kitty) ........I have only just realized I haven't used her name on here yet :o is happily running in and out....hmmm must do something about those brambles!! maybe Monday? My leccy will definitely last until tomorrow which will be a spendy day anyway as it's the day I have to go to London and I'm putting off getting marge until then too.... fishfinger butties will be fine with mayo instead LOL. Doctor Who is on tonight and so just for Today all is well in my world :) and I will NOT spend.

Having also made the decision NOT to go out tonight has had a hand in lifting my spirits too I think, saving money and not having to put up with the majority of the people from work is sort of like icing on the cake really ;)

Hugs to everyone for getting me through the month :)

    :hello:
