I have one suit, but I have only ever worn this to work. The wedding is my bosses daughters, so my work colleagues will be there and it being a Pakistani affair I am invited to two events. So I don't need a tux just a suit would do.
Two different suits for two days. I was planning to buy two new suits from TM Lewin and then wear these suits to work. But I think that'll be stretching the financial purse. So rental sounds a better idea. Thanks I will post there shortly.
Well you're well located for lots of options then - which is goodI don't know how much time you've got but how about a quick search in the yellow pages for local suit hire places where you can get some ideas and costings - then you can compare costs. Perhaps (purse strings and wardrobe necessity allowing) you could buy one if you need another suit for work, and hire the other? Sounds a fab wedding

Hi everyone
I have been amazed at how folks have done their NSD's and how many as many as 19 in a month! The stories of peoples live's are moving and the zeal to save money is amazing.
I wish to report 6/10 NSD'S 10 is clearly looking more optimistic even though there are many days which theoretically could be NSD because I don't spend and forget to account for it.
Spending wise: favourite spends have been App store now I have as a 50th Birthday pressie one magnificent Iphone 3GS and a lovely 32'' TV. The TV suffers with signal weaknesses so I need to get a signal booster but the Iphone is one great big opportunity to work out who I am and spend accordingly on apps, which I don't know how to organise into Libraries so I don't hog all my page space which runs to over 100 apps on 10 pages!!! The phone Memory is 16GB which is perfect for me. When I don't have my Laptop on now repaired thankfully by my kind competent brother who paid for a repair to the screen for my birthday, I rely on my iphone to provide me with all service connectivity so I could be anywhere, go shopping, chat with friends, go on skype, do documents etc.
Grocery wise Tesco, Ocado et al have been taking too much of my money. I once felt bad cos I spent £140 on a single transaction and my weekly income is about that-fixed, low, persecuted. But MSE is causing me to think about maybe enlisting for say a fixed amount of money for Grocery ie £40 pw as my caring Ma has suggested, and try to experiment/dip toes into waters of this thing called MSE.
Net wise I am the quintessential online Shopper, a big Amazon girl who must have accounts at all manner of shops so at least I can nab books etc at cheapest prices if I have to pay for things.
I visited an offlne second bookshop in Colchester Town Centre and found that book prices there same as Amazon, the proprietor had clearly done her homework but the prices were not in the 50p Book club ie serious Authors literary academic, current literary fiction but at genuinely dirt cheap prices.
I don't do so many things: I don't drink but believe in living it up when I do, I dont go out but Family tend to be the times I can live it up at fabulous restaurants etc, I stay indoors most of time and would happily transfer operations to garden so long as secure as cheaper.
I am on a dress thing ATM so dresses and looking feminine is a key goal this year; everyone here is so casual I need to resist with heels and dresses, bung it on functional glamour so I have been googling and looking at what;s on offer prices styles etc.
With my Tesco Vouchers I got myself 3x dresses 1x was a very generous Birthday pressie from a friend. The dress was £16 the Tesco Gift Voucher £15 so win win and dress can be dressed up with tops for a sexy pinafore style. Shoes are another project, because I have wide feet, I am also Petite, and funny toes, shoes must needs be comfortable and stylish. Frumpiness is a sin to be avoided at all costs.
Hope this helps MSE friends a bit of insight into my financial life and my hithertoo struggle to do weekly NSD's.:mad::(#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.
Reading whatever books I want to the rescue!:money::beer[/B

Well, in the end I managed 7 out of the 8 days I signed up for. I'm pretty pleased with that for a first try and because I had a friend staying for a couple of weeks in the middle of the month.
gratz to everyone who made their targets and to those, like me, who tried but didn't quite make it. Maybe next month.Whatever0 -

Whoops...finished April with an online spend at 11.23pm...an order with Mango (a top I was looking at instore but in a diff size). However, I had a £10 off voucher - which I got yesterday...and it expired yesterday. Except when I tried to use it they said it had already expired...seems to be because the website runs on CET (GMT +1hr).... so I emailled and complained that a promo for the UK should adhear to UK hours not CET and would they please refund £10 to my card.
Don't actually think I'll keep any of it - feeling v.guilty for the purchases (well it's actually 1 top in 2 diff sizes and 2 diff colours - so bascially 4 of the same, plus one other so not as bad as it might seem) ..right....roll on MSE May!Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
