Is shorthand used for the full Olympic title of 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' - bit of a mouthful, and lets not get into the sport/politics debate...

If this was the case would they not just have called it Team UK??:think:

only in Northern Ireland can gay people be cured .Where is Iris when she is needed

Yeah... makes you wonder what happened these poor people that they got this Gay thing. Was it something they ate or maybe caught it while on holiday.... maybe if there was a vaccine for it, it would stop people catching it in the first place so they wouldn't need a cure then!! OMG!!

I can remember when they opened a shop for cross dressers just off Royal Avenue. The Free p's were out in force demonstrating aginst it. I saw a boy and a woman, he went into the shop, the older woman stood outside and smoked a cigarette. I said to her that I was surpsied that any mother would let her son go into such a place. She said, "I'm not his mother - I'm his father!" :D

Only in Northern Ireland would gangs of youths put demolition men off a job to demolish the houses themselves for free in order to sell the bricks to recyclers!

Brick bandits strip NIHE site in south Belfast
The NI Housing Executive has appealed to people to stop dismantling houses to steal bricks which are being sold on as salvage.

The appeal came as it emerged that so-called "brick bandits" are stripping a Housing Executive demolition site in the Village area of south Belfast.

A lucrative trade has grown up around reclaimed Belfast bricks which can retail for between 50p to £1 each.

I suppose things have changed slightly. Twenty years ago they would have been using the bricks as ammunition to use in roits. Now they are enterprising as well as helping to save the planet by recycling... we think!

Team UK is Ukraine. That's why we had to use Team GB.
