I can't believe the negative attitude towards someone who is trying to do right. This Saturday I watched Blue badge holders park and run to and from our local supermarket to avoid getting wet. At least 50% of the people parking and displaying badges did not have a problem with mobility. But that's OK as nobody misuses the "blue badge" and the people sprinting must have hidden disabilities or are partaking in exercise to aid their recovery.

People who have a blue badge can run you know...

That is not true Stockwire, Atos is a nightmare, everyone would worry if they were reported even genuine people because you have to have yourself invaded and questioned. You are considered guilty and have to go out of your way to prove otherwise and it can take months.

IMHO, we only have the OP word which sounded more like jealousy. They were not in posession of the whole facts and did not even bother to approach the person to ask for example, if they have been recommended to do zumba.

As far as having nothing to worry about if you are innocent, let me give you a scenario -You do know that innocent people go to jail in the real world? You are trying to tell me that if someone reported you of a crime and the police
came to your door and you went through rigerous examination, questioning
and form filling for weeks on end, even months, to try to prove your innocence you would not be worried or stressed? BS

You will be surprised how many green eyed people claim someone is digging a garden. I am entitled to my opinion which is 100 percent of facts should have been gained FIRST before reporting. In this case, assumptions were made.
Having a blue badge does not stop you digging a garden or doing light zumba.

People should stop assuming that a blue badge means the disabled person has to have no life.

You do know that innocent people get reported? You do know that a percentage lose their award based on such reports even though they are genuine cases purely because the doubt has been placed there? You do know of the stress and in some cases suicidal stress this causes to families?

I am all for catching fraudsters, but ONLY when all the facts are in place. And yes, invisible illnesses do exist, and existence and suffering is made ten times
worse with attitudes like yours - mocking others with such illnesses.

Just because someone does not look disabled does not mean they are not. Your comments are offensive to those os us with invisible illnesses. Cancer is an invisible illness, you can run with cancer - think before you speak! People like you take too much notice of the media trash witchunt and presume if you have a blue badge you can therefore not move.
How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.

    stockwire the OP said this:
. she walks around with a stick or rides on her mobility scooter, or is flying about in her mobility car... i wish i could afford to buy all the latest gadgets, apply for 4 venues at the Olympics for the family of 4....

no disability benefits I know of will pay for all those things. And it certainly sounds like jealousy to me.

Agreed, but 50% of them ?, or is it the case they forgot to bring the disabled person along.

True, but the majority of fraudsters have more than one income stream.

When did I mock ?. I have not judged you or any other disabled person with visible or hidden ailments. At the same time you have judged me as
being able bodied. I don't take much notice of the media, I see things with my own eyes and am old enough to form my own opinions.
The so called media witch hunts and the attitude of atos is a result of the level of fraudulent claims. Reduce them and every would be so much better off. If people have their suspicions it is much better they report it to the proper authorities, rather than turn private eye themselves.

If there was a family of adults living next to you, who you knew were all "unemployed and claiming benefits" and you saw them leaving every morning in working attire, would you ask them if they were "working" before reporting them ?, Would you follow them to get proof ?, or would you turn a blind eye and wish them well. If the later no doubt at some stage you would become envious of their lifestyle.

Really?! Wow so its just a coincidence we get plunged into economic disaster because of governmental and bank incompetence then they start a witch hunt.

Even if it was because of the frankly tiny percentage of fraudsters in what way, shape or form does that mean genuine disabled claimants can be treated so obscenely?

The smartest thing this Government did was persuade stupid people that these benefits are about fraudsters, they are NOT they are about the genuine disabled claimants whose needs should come first ,above and beyond everyone else in respect of these benefits! They should not be sidelined and maligned because of a handful of fraudsters.

Personally i find the sheer breadth of your ignorance mocking, you clearly have had very little dealsings with ATOS if you think they're 'attitude' is just because they want to catch fraudsters. Garbage. Complete and utter garbage. This is re-appropriation by stealth the Government is involved in nothing less then a good old fashioned money grab by any means.

At least 50% of the people parking and displaying badges did not have a problem with mobility. But that's OK as nobody misuses the "blue badge" and the people sprinting must have hidden disabilities or are partaking in exercise to aid their recovery.

Here is the mocking you did which was clearly said sarcastically. Additionally, the family on benefits that works is a bad example, you can see work clothes clearly, you cannot see disabilities clearly.

Get in posession of the facts instead of thinking its all about cheats - dla is actually the lowest for cheats - 0.5 percent, again you have become part of the media frenzy, soaking the bs up that is reported like a sponge. You clearly fail
to understand that you do not need to have just walking problems for the blue badge......or high rate motability.

This is the issue, ill informed people think you have to represent the cripple in a chair to be entitled, then get jealous and decide to report some poor sod who might only have 3 months left to live without being in posession of the
    whole facts.

You can never assume that just because someone can bend their back they are not disabled - DLA covers a whole plethora of disabilities, some of them being mental. Someone who suffers from cancer and are not expected to live long
are usually automatically entitled to the high component of motability and care and a blue badge.

However, they may be able to run, they may be able to garden or do zumba
and then be laid up for a while after trying to get a little enjoyment. Someone with mental disabilities may also be able to do gardening..... All I am saying is when it comes to reporting someone make sure you KNOW the WHOLE situation, which clearly the OP did not, and made no attempt to find out.

Geniune sick people are dying before they get their appeals heard when Atos declare them (incorrectly) fit for work. This is very likely to hapoen when

someone is reassessed due to a report from some ignorant person who did not bother to find out more facts first.

The disabled person looses the will to live, due to Atos incompetence, and the Atos Dr gets paid handsomly for each claimant they say is fit for work and as a consequence the sick and disabled are stripped of all benefits ( including
housing benefit, therefore potentially having to deal with the stress of
becoming homeless and hungry) and have died before getting their appeal date. It's of little surprise really.....

I am willing to bet that if rules where changed and instead of Atos Drs getting paid hundreds of pounds for each person they deem fit, they were instead made to pay for the cost of appeals if won, they would do a better job. All these appeals are costing the tax payer millions and many of them are won.

Some of the disabled have worked all their life too - I just hope you never get sick, have to fight for benefits, and then get some ignorant jealous person grassing on you for trying to improve your quality of life by perhaps doing light Zumba (in a wheelchair).

The able bodied should be thankfull that they are - I would give anything to
be well again, yet I am subjected to a life in bed and abuse off people for being sick, scared to try and move.

It's also surprising how many who are fortunate enough to have a job and their health believe that it is an easy life on benefits ( again because of the gutter press) UNTIL the day comes that they have to claim. Karma is a b****

Th OP of this thread clearly stated that the person they repirted regularly used crutches, a disabled scooter and other disability aids. Normally someone who is cheating the system does not go to the extent of paying out for a disability scooter or even using it - they would just take a stick out at best - this is why this report is down to jealousy IMHO.
How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.

    Tiny ?

"stupid people" pay taxes. Taxes = benefits

now who's making a judgement without all the facts ?.

Not my opinion. it was posted on another thread, about blue badge fraud.
Additionally, the family on benefits that works is a bad example, you can see work clothes clearly, you cannot see disabilities clearly.
But is the op going to ask them if they are working, making sure they have all the facts before reporting them ?.

Fact. 30,000 people in Wales are kept on incapacity benefit because there is no work for them. Not reported in the gutter press but by the labour lead welsh assembly

This is the issue, ill informed people think you have to represent the cripple in a chair to be entitled, then get jealous and decide to report some poor sod who might only have 3 months left to live without being in posession of the

Agreed. We do need a better system

Some of the disabled have worked all their life too - I just hope you never get sick, have to fight for benefits, and then get some ignorant jealous person grassing on you for trying to improve your quality of life by perhaps doing light Zumba (in a wheelchair).
And you know?. How ?. The above statement makes you no different than the op. You are making ill informed judgements about me and my situation.

The able bodied should be thankfull that they are - I would give anything to
be well again, yet I am subjected to a life in bed and abuse off people for being sick, scared to try and move.
Likewise disabled people should be thankful there is a benefit system
(which could be better) instead of wallowing in self pity and always relying on the emotional argument.
