What new car to get??

That's a bit of a bargain tbh. What warranty will come with those Sirions?
I doubt those Epicas are as epic as their name suggests though- that 2.0 lump will drink like a good un and it's not actually a UK spec model so I'd worry about warranty.

True, but it's very cheap
That 2l engine's a good sort though -- 6-cylinder, nice little engine. I've been out for a test drive of an Epica before -- it's a lot better than you might think.
No use for Chimera though as it's a big fat barge, the kind of car I like but it's not economical as you say :rotfl:0 -
6 cyl?
*goes to ask Motorpoint for the PX value of a 2011 Picanto*

I likes me barges me.0 -
I'd love a big barge (I've just sold a Laguna which doesn't quite qualify for barge status but eats up the motorway like a good 'un) but just can't afford it atm0

I'm just wondering what these cars are going to be like for resale. Big Korean saloons are always pretty catastrophic for depreciation, and if they're selling new for just over eight grand I'm hoping that they'll be about two and a half come three or four years old like the old Magentis was (and unlike the Magentis this is actually quite a good car -- the Kia always was a bit plasticky and carp inside and completely anodyne to drive, this is a lot better).
Might get one then just for the crack, while everyone else is pootling around in their microcars lol.0 -
Saw TWO Magentis kicking about as private hire cabs the other day :rotfl: - the local council really will allow anything0

Nothing really much wrong with the Magentis fundamentally -- the basic engineering was good, and I can see why they would make a decent taxi (fuel economy notwithstanding). The Hyundai Sonata it was based on is a reasonable product, but they cut back what little refinement the Sonata had to produce the Magentis.
Considering you could buy one for £6495 by the end of production (this was about 2006) they were OK -- I mean the interior was no worse than what you get on a typical supermini, it just didn't cut it on what was supposed to be a "luxury" (hah!) car. But they really were boring to drive around in -- lifeless doesn't even begin to describe them. Fine if all you wanted was a big cheap car (and they sold well in the US where lots of folk want big cheap cars) but in the UK, nah.0 -
Surprised they've never had a stab at a Mondeo sized car given the success of the Cee'd/Cee'd estate.0
