Absolutely untrue.
The rooms I have entirely to myself are: a 15ft square office/study at the front of the house. An 18ft x 20ft living room overlooking the garden, and a 12 x 18 bedroom, with ensuite shower and separate toilet. That is three rooms to myself, more than I ever had when living with my boyfriend, or, further back, my family. You cannot get three rooms to yourself if all you have is a "bedsit" as you sneeringly call my living accommodation; you'd need at least a two bedroom flat with no other occupants.
Furthermore, my lodgers are at work during the day, so I have the entire house to myself. And when they are here, at weekends, the only room we share is the kitchen/diner. The current batch of lodgers happen to be young men who don't cook and go out a lot in the evenings, and one of them spends every weekend elsewhere, it's rare for one to use the kitchen, even at weekends. On the top floor they have their own little kitchenette with kettle, toaster and microwave, and that seems to fulfil their needs.
How much of YOUR house do you not have to share? I'll bet you don't have even ONE room entirely to yourself.
Why you should assume that I am a friendless hermit is beyond me. I could not manage either side of my life (well known local author who gives public talks etc) and landlady (welcoming new people into her home) if I were not a very outgoing, sociable type.
That green eyed monster really IS in evidence folks. Hahahahaha.0 -

The follow-up links to web sites and "get rich quick" schemes are sure to follow!0 -
I'm not sorry I started this thread, because it gives one SUCH an insight into how some people are so full of irrational hatred towards others.
The internet gives such people the anonymity to spit out poisonous venom at complete strangers who have done them no harm, but whose crime was to merely lead a slightly different kind of life than theirs.0 -

It's clear that despite all the curve balls life has thrown at you you have made a happy and successful life for yourself and your new boyfriend. One that, most importantly, you are happy and content with. So who can argue against that. To be honest with all the negativity here I'd not be surprised if your thread had not been linked to that vile cesspit hpc. Good luck to you and yours for the next 15 years. You have defied odds and illness to come up trumps. A lot to celebrate and inspire in your story. thanks for sharing.
THANKS for saying that. What is HPC?0 -

It's fascinating, isn't it? Well, Ok, not fascinating but at least interesting. I'm always intrigued as to what motivates OPs like this whether they are genuine or not.0 -

You're correct, I dont class any of the rooms in my house "mine" because I class the whole house as "ours". That is my wife, my daughter and myself and between us we have a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a downstairs WC, a main bathroom and three bedrooms. Having never been married I dont expect you to realise just how special it is to share.
You are full of self indulgent drivel. When walking around your town have you ever said "do you know who I am?". I bet you have.
Envious of you? :rotfl:0
