I had a phone call from the tooth fairy... she said she would pay my son 50p per tooth to spend on what he wanted OR £2 if it was saved until ALL teeth had fallen so he could spend £40 on something big!

He said he would like £2 a tooth and has £16 saved so far!
We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

Me and my brother were £1 a tooth (many moons ago). I had 4 adult teeth removed due to overcrowding as well but can't remember if the tooth fairy came for them or not.
I used to be conviced the tooth fairy, santa and my mum went to the same school because they all had the same hand writing. Towards the end the tooth fairy gave me a treasure hunt to find my pound :) I enjoyed it more than the money!
  • The tooth fairy that visits my family apologises for her apparent meanness, but she only ever pays 50p unless she is feeling particularly generous on the day (or cannot find anything smaller than £1).

If I'm having to persuade a child to have a tooth out at the surgery there is often a deal struck that the toothfairy will pay £5 if they let me take the tooth out :)
Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you are usually right.

our fairy pays £1 each tooth and will accept notes explaining where the tooth is (e.g. at the bottom of the swimming pool, on the floor of the school canteen) if it's not in an egg cup next to the bed.

I used to get 50p per tooth (even the one I swallowed)...although my brother who never brushed his teeth and as a result they came out black (gross!) and full of fillings got the same, which was a little unfair! I was so sad when I got my first filling at 21 :(

I had 6 baby teeth taken out when I was 12 because they didn't want to budge and so I was super gummy for my first year of high school...I think my Mum and Nan must have both had a word because the tooth fairy gave me a whopping tenner for that! :)

£1 a tooth here, but they have to clean and filling free.... (so far they have been :D) otherwise it's a sliding scale.
  • £2 per tooth in our house. I used to get 5p per tooth, so thought £1 would be plenty, but DH insists he used to get £1 for his and £2 was only fair for inflation!! I reminded him it would have been a pound note if he did get a pound, but he would not budge and is adamant that is what he got, even when I pointed out it was going to cost us £40 per child! Most unusual, as he normally can't wait to save money. The going rate at school is £1 in most homes and I am not a popular mum at the school gate when any of my children have lost a tooth.:embarasse Still, the kids are very happy!!!!

It was a few years ago but I got £1 for the first tooth and 50p for each one after that.

I had to have a load of adult ones taken out because of overcrowding though, and the tooth fairy was very generous with them - they were big adult teeth and came with the root and all so they were worth £2 each!

My cousin put one of his dogs baby teeth under the pillow to try to trick the tooth fairy...she left him a dog biscuit! :rotfl:
