Jeez.
I can be a nice guy...sometimes, can't I? I was just trying to help the poor woman out. Give her erm... a few inches...and she takes a mile!
Sounds like Mr Evoke is charging her sex in exchange for the random items.
:D Maybe that's why he wants to keep things civil?

She can't be that good if it's only worth a small potted plant

I let it go for a while but i'm being pestered by the woman whose house I bought recently as she keeps wanting to collect bits she 'forgot' when the couple moved out.
So far they've taken some garden ornaments. There is some mail for them so i'm happy to hand that over.
However, now she wants an aerial booster and some aerial cables that she left in a fitted cupboard. Those fitted cupboards are being dismantled and disposed of tomorrow! They are emtpy as far as I can tell.
Another reason i'm p1ssed off about this is that the couple removed practically everything - including digging up a nice plant from the garden and leaving a huge hole and the cover for the hob extractor fan that was mounted on an external wall.
They even removed the grilled from the air vent in the bathroom!
Is she taking the p1ss as the house is now mine and it's being gutted now?
I need to make it clear to her that the house is now sold and to stop texting me for bits from the house every week. But I need to keep things polite and friendly. What do I do?BottomRung wrote: »Just firmly tell her that it's no longer her property and that you have removed and discarded everything that was left. I think you've been far too accomodating already to be honest. I'd also tell her that you'll forward mail for 1 more week before marking them 'Return to sender'. Maybe advise her of the Mail Forwarding Service the post office offer, it's pretty cheap and reliable.
Good advice here. Is she of sound mind do you think? Happened to me and it later turned out woman was in the early stages of dementia.
She came round and when I told her everything had been sent to the tip (including freezer full of decomposed meat:eek:) she tried to shove me out of the way to get in. She then took up root in the porch and refused to leave. I had to get the police to remove her, there were no relatives.
I felt terrible when I found out about the dementia, but we had bought the house, not her as well. The hard thing was the things she wanted were things that we knew for sure were never there when we moved in.Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
I feel a TheJonesFamily-esque saga about to happen...LOL.Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0

Tell them to go away. Our vendor left loads of rubbish and then wanted some back (I threw them away when I moved in)
Then he tried to hold us to ransom by saying he won't give us the spare keys he had or the window keys. Just said don't care, we changed all locks on Day 1.0 -
Step 1. Tell her you threw out anything you didn't want ages ago.
And you want anything you didn't throw out.
Step 3. Then tell her she can come let herself in at anytime.
Oh I forgot Step 2.
Step 2 was borrow my dog

Oh god we had this, when we turned up after completion the women hadn't even packed! She wouldn't let us in to start of and when I explained we owned the house and she had to get out she got quite difficult. Agreed to go away for 2-3 hours with our removal people for dinner and come back. When we got back there were over 13 bin bags outside plus loads of stuff in the attic and garage. She kept phoning to request items back for a couple of months afterwards (she had moved to another part of the country thank god) and in the end my husband told her we had had a major clear out and everything was at the tip - she never stopped her post and have now been here 10 years and still receiving letters - yes I just return to sender with comment on front on how long ago she moved out!! I won't even start on the state of the house when we moved in - took me days to clean.0
