I would like to know if the advice Smithy is getting from the majority of people is sensible advice. He now probably needs to attend court and pay the two lots of £60 plus admin and court fees. CAN WE HEAR FROM ANYONE WHO AS NOT PAID OR COMPLETELY IGNORED THE DEMANDS FROM PE AND ACTUALLY GOT AWAY WITH IT. I have just received a demand for parking 8 mins over on an Aldi carpark. I couldn,t move my car because I had a puncture. It was the first time I had visited this Aldi branch and I had no idea they had CCTV infact I thought a guy would come and try and put a ticket on the widscreen and the I could explain my situation. As anybody tried reasoning with ALDI when they think they have mitigating circumstances?

Yes, sensible move ...doubt the advice from people who've been there and done it, and ignore 3500 threads, and Watchdog, and solicitors......nice move.

Turn your question on its head...........CAN WE HEAR FROM ANYONE WHO AS BEEN TAKEN TO COURT AND LOST.

You'll be deafened by the silence that ensues.

Muxloe, there are countless threads on here with people who ignored parking eye and other PPCs, I have ignored 3 invoices and it has not gone anywhere near court! This person is getting advice from pepipoo and will defend it, if it's even real ?
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I have ignored 3 invoices plus the laughable debt collector threats and not so terrifying final warning from Graham White Solicitors....all generated by the same PPC at the same location for the same made up contravention .
Invoice arrived October, final warning Feb and nothing since ...

As for Smithy since he is in the extremely rare position of having received genuine court papers he has taken proper advice on how to defend the claim..he may have to attend but that doesn't mean he has to pay as per your post ..how can you possibly be so sure the parking company will win their case ?
No one here has ever advised anyone to ignore genuine court papers ..but they are as rare as the proverbial rocking horse poo..so it's not something that needs advice usually.
In the absence of court papers the simple ignore advice is very much tried and tested.

It is very much real. I have not posted for a while as I do not know much more than what was already posted and have been busy. I have defended my case and at the moment I am still waiting to hear back.

I would still suggest to anybody coming on here that they ignore any letters from Parking Eye as I just seem to have been pretty unlucky in this case. I am fighting them as much as I can and will hopefully have a successful ending.

Muxloe, the advice I got from Pepipoo was fantastic, if by any chance I do lose the case and I have to go to court and pay £120 this will still cost me a lot less than the original amount that they asked for, which I am pretty sure I will never have to pay.

As much as I was disbelieved and criticised on this and another thread I am glad I stood my ground and was able to get some great advice. I have all the proof anyone could need now that my case is real and I have just been rather unlucky.

Well good luck Smithy and please let us know the outcome I looked at the 'Watchdog video' and listened to the solicitors advice including is comments that nobody to is knowledge had ever been taken to court so it seems taht you have been very unlucky.
I today checked the PE signage at the Aldi site that i am involved with and the only mention of CCTV cameras is a very small symbol in the bottom right corner of their sign.

Do keep us updated Smithy - I am still recommending to people to ignore as I have but would be great to have some closure once you win your case, I am sure you will!

Thanks for pioneering on behalf of all of us.. :-)
