I have been a complete failure this week as far as flying is concerned, but I intend to put in a couple of hours this afternoon.

STOP RIGHT THERE YOUNG LADY! Failure does not happen here, I can't believe you have done nothing. Bet you have washed the pots S&S the kitchen and bathroom several times, might have even hoovered and dusted and that is flying.

I am one of the world's laziest flyers and even I have done some flying ;)

Happy Mothering Sunday :D Hope you all enjoy your day and happy memories of those no longer with us.

    Morning everyone.

Had a bad nights sleep so an early night on the cards.

Got a lovely card off DD. She had asked me what I wanted and I asked for a box of Maltesers so will save them for when Im watching tv. She had also popped in some nice little notelets.

    HHi done.
    dailies done
recycling out ready for in the morning.

    Triker Hugs.

Hugs and spoons to those that need them specially. Lady L, Toots. LW.
  • Afternoon, everyone :)

splat #1 decided to go walkabouts last night before dinner. He's none too bright and is about as streetwise as a sherbert fountain, so wasn't best pleased that he wasn't even coming back for food. Gave up at about 1am and went to bed (having opened upstairs windows out the back as well as mine out the fromt, just in case he decided to show his face).

6.30am, DD's alarm on her stereo goes off again (I will murder her if she doesn't bother switching it off for her weekends away again) and I can hear a faint squawking sound from the back garden.

The dirty stopout rolls in, dives headfirst into the now empty foodbowls and looks up expectantly at me, yowling. I turn round, go back upstairs, accompanied by the two well behaved female splats after saying something rather rude to him. He's now snoring on my bed, so I am tempted to keep prodding him to wake him up.

So, with such a lovely start to the day, I have done WM, drying and folding, loaded DW and eaten a bar of fruit & nut for breakfast with a cup of coffee.

Off out soon for a workshop and will try and remain immune to the families having a lovely Mothers' Day.

It is, however, sunny, and the workshop is by the river, so not all bad.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

You are all doing fab and lots in trying circumstances, hoping that somebody notices xx

That will be a 'no', then, but lovely words, dusty. Thank you. :D

Hugs, jojo. Hope you enjoy the workshop. It's one reason why I'm quite glad that I don't have to go anywhere today.

Went with DS2 and DH to MIL's (DS1 couldn't be bothered to get up) and spent a nice hour or so with her. I'd love to take her out somewhere, but she really isn't interested. Doesn't like eating out , either. I've had nice cards (DS2 made a lovely one at school - thank you to all the primary teachers who work so hard on these things) and DH bought the pudd from the M&S advert, because I was drooling over it whenever it came on. He does have thoughtful moments. :T
If I'm grouchy then it's because, otherwise, the day is no different to any other Sunday - and everyone seems to think that that's fine.

Sexy - hope your wedding day and honeymoon will be everything you've hoped for and more!

Plan for today/the weekend (in no particular order):
    homework with DS2
laundry - WIP (one load drying, one in WM and 2 left to go upstairs)
    some HHCs
    school work
send DS2 down the hill with a card for special friend
    cook dinner
    DS2's lunch
    DW

Have had philly and smoked salmon on toast for breakfast/lunch and I'll finish off with a yogurt, banana and hot drink in a moment. DS2 is playing with NN's daughter and I might fit in a short nap, in the hope that it will snap me out of this mood.

    Enjoy your Sunday, everyone. x

Serena - sounds hopeful with scarring, no scar vibes for you. The shrubby things are starting to look lovely and the wisteria should flower soon, the smell from the honeysuckles and the viburnums in the evening is just wonderful so taht was money well spent but I have heaps to do. I did plant the onions/shallots/garlic in modules like you said and eventually planted them out when the weather got better. Seed potatoes in yesterday and the boys have been helping me weed the rest of the veg plot today. I must sow some seeds, and the epic that is weeding all the borders is high priority. I have lost at least one border to couch at the front sadly. The changed hours are having the expected impact but we are at least safe when the mortgage starts to go up again and the child benefit stops.

The house is still clean, with the usual exception of our room - and even that has clean sheets and has been hoovered, and I hoovered downstairs and S&S'd bathrooms and kitchen this morning.

The WM has been on three times so far and I need to get a fourth load on before I go back outside. After four days of putting OHs dirty clothes on his pillow when he didn't put them on the floor next to the washing basket rather than in the washing basket he has finally got the hint :D

Sexymouse - have a lovely time, and just remember to enjoy it rather than fret about things being right.

Hugs for you Triker, it isn't much better here!

Forgot to mention OH is tidying the garage where the freezer lives. He found a bag of mince that I must have put out at some point some time ago when I was tidying the freezer. He wasn't very pleased with me, but at least it may smell better in there now :o

    Afternoon all!

First of all a massive congratulations to grateful....lovely to hear your news xx
Sexymouse - wishing you all the love and hugs for Tuesday xx
Jojo - massive hugs to you. The only thing that works with my daughter (same age) is if I walk away. She can't stand me doing that. I try really hard to tell her i'll talk when she's calmed down. Once in a while I just scream though and I can almost see her smirk as if she's won. They really do love the reaction.

My mother's day is a quiet one. DS got a sickness bug on Friday. DH started with it last night. DD started with it at 1am this morning. I have a washing mountain of pj's, bedding, towels etc. Forth wash in machine and raining outside so not sure where i'm going to dry stuff. Oh well. One thing for sure, I am NOT going to catch it! If i keep saying that it might work. Got a lovely homemade card off both children. We're postponing Mother's Day until next Sunday because we were going to see my parents and i don't want to risk passing anything on to them.

All the sicklies are watching tv quietly. None of them are drama queens when they're ill so it's peaceful. Think i'll go and read a good book!

    Massive hugs to everyone.

    xx

ETA - Serena - hope you're ok, just saw the bit about stitches and scars - big hugs to you xx

Maybe if its tidier you won't lose stuff when you're excavating the freezer...

Didn't manage my planned early start - woke up early, then again at 9.30 ... called the friend who was supposed to be picking me up at 9.15 for the farmers' market to ask where she was, and she'd only just woken up too :o so we were a bit later than planned, but still managed to get there and treated ourselves to fresh doughnuts for breakfast. Shoved a load of washing in before I left, and emptied the DW, so when I got back I mowed the lawn (the mower badly needs servicing) and then hung the washing out. There's another load in now. I've also done my expenses (after a battle with the system) so fingers crossed I won't have any late payment fees. I just need to print out all the paperwork and take it in to work so I don't get so many nagging emails about submitting receipts.

Its overcast and cool here - hopefully the washing will dry, but is not very energising! I might go and sort out some more logs, as now the heating isn't on, its nice having the fire going in the evening for a bit of extra warmth. And chopping them might give me a bit more energy!

Afternoon all. Hope you're all enjoying your day.

I've got the shopping done.....lovely and quiet in MrA while you're all out doing Mothers Day stuff.....and I got a couple more pies and choc desserts from the rtc section.
Hoovered out the car....it really needed it and since I stopped smoking (9 days now) I thought it was time to freshen it up a bit.
I was going to jetwash the drive but I need a new adaptor for the hose and I'm not going out again today (I'll get one next time I go in that direction)
I was going to wash the windows too but it's just started raining.
I've just checked my ebay stuff and have quite a few watchers so hopefully I'll get rid of a few things.

The neighbours cat popped in for a couple of hours this morning. Obviously he wasn't the centre of attention at his place so came round to keep me company. I've just let him in again as I spotted him sheltering under the bench....he's now snoring on the dining chair! I sent mum a card but she's on holiday and I can't ring her. Her and my stepdad are coming up for their first visit for the last week of April so I've got that to look forward to...I haven't seen her since last July. I bought some nice flowers for the garden this morning and I'm hoping there'll be some reductions on the mothers day stuff in MrA tomorrow....some beautiful flowers but a bit on the pricey side.
