Morning all
Looks like my sore throat from last week is back and I'm sniffling, so the TCP will be out in a bit and I'm going to dose myself up with something. I really didn't want to get up this morning and it's taking me a while to get going.
Plan for today (in no particular order):
breakfast
go to school to collect work for weekend (ran out of time yesterday)
shopping
library with DS2
homework with DS2
laundry
DW
give DS1 some jobs to do
lunch and tea
some HHCs
look for coat for DS2 (maybe, but it can wait)
school work
buy present for MIL
I'm sure there was more... It's looking fairly gloomy outside at the moment, so at least I won't feel as if I'm missing out. NN's son has asked if I have more stuff for e-bay. Must tell him about free listing and postage going up - thanks, kazw. The first things he sold for me hardly made anything, but at least they're out of the way. I'll also ask him if he'll cut our grass when they do their next - for a small fee, of course. MIL gave us a mower, but it's not height adjustable. I'll ask if she wants it back and have a go at selling it if not.
Have a good Saturday, everyone. x0 -

I have 16 months (and 1 day) between DD1 and DS. DS was a very hungry baby and it was hard - especially as I wanted to put DD1 to bed occasionally.
Our solution was to make DS's evening feed a bottle. This meant that OH could give it and we could share the duties around...... We also did this when DD2 came along 21 months later...
At some point in time you will have to give up breastfeeding squeak. I was ORDERED by the hospital to give up when I went for my booking in appt with DS!!!!!!!!!! (DD1 would have been 11 months old). So at this point DD1 went onto a bottle at night...
hi all
i just want to correct a myth here - it is perfectly possible to breastfeed a baby all through being pregnant with the next one. AND it is possible to feed a toddler and a newborn baby for as long as you want to -be that months or years.
As breadfeeding rates are so low in the UK it is not something that many midwifes and doctors are familiar with so many Drs and midwifes tell you it is not possible / advisable as happened to Cycling Yorkie - if anyone want advise on this i would recommend they contact La Leche League. I told my GP i was feeding 2 and he said "Really! i did not know that was possible"
My first child is ivf and i breasfed her exclusively and then found out i was pregnant. I have just under a 15 month gap. I fed dd thoughout my pregnancy with ds. I was 40 at the time so no spring chicken:o and then fed them both until they were 3 and a half so i bf for 5 years without a break - i found bf to be less work for me than having to get up and make bottles or to have to entertain the toddler whilst feeding ds.
Everyones situation is different but i found tandem feeding made my life much easier to cope with having 2 small babies. When i had to feed the baby i often fed baby first and then if i felt tired got dd up on the sofa / bed with us both and she fed as well and we all had a little post bf nap. My children used to hold hands with each other whilst breastfeeding one on each side:A. We have such cute pictures of them feeding and cuddling each other at the same time.
When bf one or 2 it removes the need to get up in the night - we all slept together and they fed whenever they wanted too without me even needing to wake up properly. BF and co-sleeping made it much easier and less tiring for me.
I even managed to wear them both in 2 slings when dd was first born - so i could feed him in one sling and carry her on my back or other hip and still get some basic flying done (hurray back on topic:D) pegging out the washing and general flying was possible whilst carrying / feeding 2 in slings - although the postman did often get an eyefull if he happened to glance in the window whilst passing as it is not very easy to feed 2 discretely and you often end up with your top around your neck
Feeding whilst pg and tandem feeding is both possible, but also for some families very practical - we went camping in a tent with no facilities when ds was 2 weeks old -and dd 15 months with no need to sterilize bottles or worry about cot beds.
anyway off to check on the lambs -now triplets -is something that maybe would be a tad more difficult to bf but not impossible:cool:

Artichoke, that is such an amazing story!! I have a friend who is tandem feeding and she is finding it so hard to get any info or support although her local group try, they just don't have the experience. I will, if you don't mind, share your story with her for a bit of a morale boost if you didn't mind. x

I might even find the time and energy to cook a meal from scratch tonight! lol. I have not been that hungry of late and nor has dh so we have just been having hommous on toast etc so will try and do a stew once the kitchen is sparkling (which shouldn't take long)

I know this will offend but can we stop the breastfeeding chat now. We have been here many times on the flylady thread and it just leads to upset. Breastfeeding is a very personal choice and whilst it works wonderfully for some it is not right for everybody. It can be very upsetting and belittling for those mothers who don't feed to hear of the heroics of others. There are many threads on other boards about pregnancy and feeding and I'm sure the posters on there will be more than happy to discuss all the pros/cons and ins/outs in depth.

Jojo_the_Tightfisted wrote: »Although, for what it's worth (which isn't a lot), Piggers, not everyone likes or 'gets' babies. I know they're all defenceless and little, but tbh, I far prefer children to babies - even when they are being detestable. I was never around younger children - the first newborn baby I had ever seen was when I was 11 at school and the first time I saw a nappy being changed was when my brother became a dad when I was 13. So babies were pretty much an alien species to me when I had mine. (Mind you, when it came to puppies, rabbits, kittens and all other animals, I was well versed in dealing with them, so I never had any difficulties with adapting to a new pet compared to adapting to a baby)
Hell yeah..babies are not themost exciting of creatures.. I like toddlers.. and oddly I quite like teenagers as well.. smelly things that they areI was changing nappies at about 8.
Your OH was pretty limited in exposure to children before he moved in with you, wasn't he? So he would find it hard to recognise what is adorable about something that is totally outside his experience. But you are undoubtedly an expert with them and see their wonderfullness easily. I'm not excusing his attitude one bit - it stinks and I think that if I were faced with someone muttering about termination, I would most likely have murdered them with a tin of cat food to the head, out the back by the chicken coop where they wouldn't be discovered for a few years.
LOL.. meany.. he'll be ok, he has only known 5 days... I think he is still very much reeling but it took me 3 weeks.. He isn't trying to push me to do anything.. which is a good job cos my doc refused anyway.. so much for everyone being convinced anyone can get a termination at the drop of a hat... maybe that is just those that are willing to pay *skin flint*
I would be tempted to present him with a leaflet on male sterilisation next time he strops out or makes a nasty comment about why people would ever have babies 'because men don't have the guts to do THIS'. Not because it would help much, but because it sounds as though he feels it's your fault, not an equal act.
I feel like it is my fault, maybe it is to a degree.. trusting my experience over statistics... silly me! .. Never mind.. life goes on, there are worse things... he could have come home with a dog...:eek::eek: .. I don't like dogs.. wouldn't harm one, but no likey!
But then again, the tin of Whiskas to the back of the head still appeals to me.
Whiskas!!!! You have posh cats... tesco premium in here and a bag of go-cat!Hi all popping in on a weekend to say hi,
flying hasnt happened much in the last month seem to start the week well but finishing it doesnt seem to be happening.
Will be spending the weekend clearing out FIL house we have until the 17th but away for a week from the 9th so this weekend we will be filling a skip and sorting things out, OH isnt attached to many things have kept photos etc but not much else and his father was definetly a hoarder of things that really should have been binned but he kept as just in case i need!!!
Off next week on school hols so aiming to fly every day the house badly needs some work, so hope all well have had the odd lurk to see what is happening but missing the up todate news.
What a horrid job it must be... I think it is awful you are pushed to clear houses so soon after losing a loved one.. like you really need the added pressure.
Big huge squishy fluffy hugs for you all... come find us if you need to offload.
Minxy moo decided to be up at 6:45.. after OH, DS1, DD3 and DD5 woke me a million times during the niht.. I am so tired I feel sick! The most galling thing is.. they are all still asleep!!!!!!!!!!
I am taking Moomin shopping for her big size clothes later... and DD1 for new undies. I need to nip in boots to update my points.. I have about £35 worth to add... and I need to pop in tesco for baby slop.. she has a favourite cereal I need to stock up on... though she is happy with ready brek with grated apple.
School pics on Monday.. I thought I'd have the 3 girl done together and Squeak done on her own.. so KH can have one if he wants of the girls and OH's family can have Squeak ones. Seeing as I am in the doghouse with everyone I thought I'd cater for what they would like. Noone will think to sort a pic for me with all mine on though
DS1 finally got the garden seeded yesterday so hopefully we won't have too many fat birds dragged in.
Squeak is laughing at the cat and shouting at him.. lol She is so noisy!
I have to parcel up her beakers and post them back yo Nuby they are spewing liquid everywhere.. they are sending free replacements supposedly though I may still get a different one while I'm out.. might construct myself a list actually so I don't forget anything... though I am more likely to just not do half of it.. I loathe the town centre for shopping.
guess I should go get dressed and sort clothes for Squeak.. and OH can deal with her smellLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

hi all
i understand about stopping the bf chat - but i just had to correct a factual inaccuracy as that is how myths perpetuate. i am not one for chat usually and dont actually post much but i had to put the facts down.
right back to flying talk...
i am off to blitz what i can whilst.....HHC anyone at 10am?
art0 -
I'm in, art - will try to have a bath and be dressed by 10.30. Probably easy for some, but a hard one for me. Without the HHC I certainly wouldn't do it.0
