The official police files have never appeared in either of those publications have they? :rotfl:

If you've been privy to such documents through work then I would imagine that you certainly shouldn't be sharing such information on a public forum.

No, I wouldn't donate my womb. I have no need for it myself but I think there's enough people around consuming too much and polluting the world already, why do something like that to help create any more?

There are several ways these days for people to become parents if they are struggling to conceive naturally. Why is a choice like this needed?

I haven't been in that situation, fortunately (it took 3 years and some treatment for me to conceive though, and that felt pretty bad!) but some people do seem to feel a strong urge to carry a baby themselves ... all those older women having IVF with donated eggs and sperm ... the baby isn't related to them or to any partner they have but they still want it instead of using the other channels ...

As for would I donate my womb ... yes, if I'm dead I'll donate my womb ... if I were alive and a close relative asked then maybe. I could never donate my eggs though, not that anyone would want them because they're faulty. I would willingly carry a baby for anyone who asked as long as it wasn't my own egg.

I wouldn't go for that at all. Pregnancy has the potential to be complicated enough (i'm a midwife) without adding this into the mix. No thanks. There are other options for parenthood without having to resort to something like this.

I wouldnt feel happy donating my womb.....

I was however more than happy to donate my eggs so that my Sister and her Husband could have a baby after 10 years of trying and three failed ivf cycles.

My "egg" is now a happy healthy 3 year old boy...my gorgeous nephew whom I adore more and more every day.

He is cherished by my Sis because she waited so long . Seeing the bond between him and my Sister and witnessing the joy he has brought into her life reminds me every day that I made the right decision when I decided to donate my eggs.

Nothing can measure up to the feeling of knowing I helped my Sister gain the one thing that made her life complete.

i'm amazed that a transplanted womb would be, for want of a better word "strong" enough to carry a pregnancy to term, i have images of it stretching and pinging off the cervix!

Theoretically i'm not against the idea, however, i'm more unsure about the ethics of egg/sperm donation. Purely for the fact that in years to come, unintentional incestuous relationships between siblings could become a more realistic possibility.

I have to say that I totally agree with this statement. This is the reason that although I donated eggs to help my Sister and her Husband , I would NEVER donate to a stranger.

I know that sounds a little mean but its just my opinion.

When I did my egg donation , at the very beginning I was asked if any remaining eggs could be used to help other childless couples which would have reduced the fee for my Sister but I specifically demanded that any remaining eggs retrieved be fozen for the future use of my Sister.

Unfortunately I did not produce as many eggs as had been anticipated though . Luckily enough it didnt matter as the first egg implanted resulted in a baby :j
