Would you donate your womb to a childless woman?

Presumably they're not talking about live womb transplants? They can take what they like from me once I'm dead...0

They could have my womb, after all its only the organ used to develop and carry the baby but i couldn't give my eggs because genetically and biologically the child from that egg is mine (i may have a different view on egg donation if i had a sister and it was her only chance)
They wouldnt use my womb anyway ive had too many sectionsIt is better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.
Of all things we give a child, our words must be carefully wrapped.0 -
I had a hysterectomy last year and if my womb could have been of use to another woman I would have happily donated it - though I think the gynae problems I had may well have made it undesirable.
I have registered as an organ donor and if my womb had still been in situ after death then again I would happily donate it along everything else of use.0 -

Its interesting how we all feel so differently isn't it? I would gladly give eggs too and wouldn't think of them being mine, no more than I feel odd when I fush away en egg each month whrn I menstruate. I also give blood and carry a doner card offering everything they want.
But I've just had a silly, over-tired thought - could you imagine the advert on freecycle
Available, one womb with or without ovaries. Unused but as far as I am aware, in working order!!:rotfl:
Sorry, I really do need more sleep!0 -

If you added, women only need apply, would that be regarded as discriminatory??0 -

I think for me personally its more to do with the fact the resulting child from that egg (and its the same with sperm now) has the right to my details and can if they wanted to find me, and to be brutally honest that scares the bejeebers out of me.
I used to donate blood and would still donate blood if i was allowed but i needed and accepted a blood transfusion so now my blood is deemed no good for anyone else
I do carry a donor card assuming my organs were of any use to anyone after I'm gone
Lol at the freecycle ad, if only it were that easy...It is better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.

I would donate eggs for people, but I think after carrying and giving birth to a child there would be no way I could give that child away - I'd already love it.0

I'd never donate eggs as i'd always be wondering where the child was seeing as it would be half mine genetically , my heart would break .
I think every child should have the right to know who their biological parents are , even if they aren't involved with thier upbringing as it's important from a medical and emotional viewpoint.
It's hard looking in the mirror and not knowing who you resemble.
As for my womb , i'm not sure if i'd be accepted or if such an operation would be without future ramifications.
I guess it would only work if you were of childbearing age and still alive..
Everyone has different views on the subject, but genetics alone doesn't make you a parent.
An eggs is just, well an egg and there are lots of other factors that determine whether or not it will eventually become a living, breathing human being.
Being a parent is about nurturing and loving a child, putting their welfare above anything else, the sleepless nights, worrying when they are poorly, watching first steps, hearing first words, wiping away the tears and knowing that you'd die for them without a moments hesitation...........
Personally I really could never feel that way about an egg.0 -
I could donate eggs and be fine, but I couldn't be a surrogate mother using my own eggs. And to be honest I don't think I could manage surrogacy. I'm so attached to this Mexican wave child (currently what is going on inside) that I think I would get just as attached to someone elses inside of me
As for donating my womb, it sounds horrific for the recipient!Money money money.
