Tesco/Asda Pricechecker finds here (Thread 2)

Hi, In my personal opinion.... the fact that you're here, posting on the thread, giving your opinion and talking about the deals is enough for me. My personal issue is with it being passed onto people who don't even bother to find out about it. You and anyone posting here clearly do put that much effort in, even if you don't add deals specifically, either because you haven't found any first or because you aren't online as often as the other addicts
(Or maybe that makes you more adicted cos you're in Tesco all day? :A:p)
,hopefully i will be able to post, when i get the hang of it :rotfl:

People just aren't realising that the ss is giving Mr T the heads up on whats going on.
By watching it and this thread, he can know what to look at faster than any programming can tell him that SEA SALT AND BALSAMIC VINEGAR CRISP sales are up by 2 % or one of 10 different types of red salmon are doing particularly well against others that are on promos.
So why hasnt the price on the rack of lamb changed?0 -
loads of posts too look through but hope some1 can help.
I bought 1 x kelloggs strawberry nutriigrain packs of 6,, was on a BOGOF but i was not sure how this would affect my DTD so only took 1 x pack,, no mention at the till that i should of taken another for free,,
Any thoughts as basicaly 2 x packs for £1.79 looks like it would be cheaper than asda
Have i missed out on free goods?
nutriigrain has never worked for meIf you see someone without a smile give them one of yours,
It wont cost you anything!

Precisely! If I do find a bargain I'm more than happy to spread the word, that's the whole point. It'd be silly of me to only let people who'd also found a deal to read my post. While there are selfish people about, most people don't have the information to share or someone has already posted it. If we were to ban the spreadsheet, we'd also have to ban this thread and also ask people not to use ASDA/Tesco.com but go to each store individually, just to make sure they doing "sufficient" work.
This thread probably costs Tesco's 0.01% of turnover. I wouldn't be surprised if they actually increased sales because of MSEers going into Tesco's rather than their usual shop. The amount of stuff you actually get isn't great. If you can only get £20 per voucher it means you're really only getting £10 worth of free stuff. Some items are only a few pence cheaper than ASDA so you'd either have to buy a lot to make it worthwhile if it wasn't something you usually buy.
Correct about the buying stuff worth 10quid for 20 quid. But that is initially and the more recycling that goes on, the more we gain. And like mentioned before, the last voucher can be used on a normal shop, effectively making the cost very low indeed. Plus, I don't think any serious DTD 'player' buys anything knowingly that is only a few pennies more expensive in Tesco compared to Asda. That is sooo against the DTD spirit(according to us, not Tesco)
I reckon those who started early spent more on petrol going to and from Tesco than spent on the stuff due to recycling. And at this quite advanced stage, we know many DTD stuff that is actually good such as yogurt, cheese, pasta(not anymore), baked beans....
I think many are sick of pancake already LOL:D0 -
Right, im off to bed......"Good Night John-Boy"... x0

ps
can you add to buy in multiples of 2 as its 3 for £3 IN TESCO
SO DTD WORKS IF YOU BUY 2 OR 4 BUT NOT 3 OR 6
hope that makes sense:)
Surely that doesn't work for 4, since 4 = 3+1, so you'd get 3 on special offer and only 1 for the useful priceThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I genuinely don't think Tesco seeing the prices is a problem either, they'll know for themselves and there may well be reasons why these prices haven't been lowered - they might be due to go on to special offer so they need them at a higher price for a while?
I do have more concern that the ease of the spreadsheet link being emailed to people who have never come anywhere near MSE could cause the volumes to increase. Tesco will have a financial cut off point where it is worth them taking the hit on the bad publicity of withdrawing the DTD rather than continuing to hand out vouchers. My own experience with S/As never having seen vouchers suggests we are still pretty small in number just now so I guess we just have to roll with it and hope they are feeling generous!0 -
The other risk about having the spreadsheet which hasn't been noted is that they are totally within their rights to define any shop built of products off the list as 'abuse' and so not pay up.This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
