Tesco/Asda Pricechecker finds here (Thread 2)

As a separate discussion point, Tesco reported Asda to the ASA for their Price Guarantee adverts (which was upheld on many counts and has meant that the adverts were banned apparently - thought I hadn't seen them recently). However, the press release over on Tesco corporate site has the interesting comment in the notes to editors "Because we do not believe that customers should have to return to Asda to redeem its Price Guarantee coupons – which are in themselves proof that Asda's promotion is misleading – Tesco will redeem these coupons in full."
Do you think this will come back to bite them - or have they covered this by allowing you to redeem for home delivery? Of course the next iteration of this price guarantee/price check war is that they will be so confident they will run the price check live while you are at the till (can you imagine the CS, "Sorry Sir/Madam, we have found that we are not cheaper, please have your shopping on us and here's your change ...").

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-12345181Asda adverts advertising discounts against other supermarkets must be changed after Morrisons and Tesco complained to the Advertising Standards Authority that there were significant exclusions from the price comparison.
The ASA upheld four of the nine complaints against the supermarket. The watchdog said that Asda did not make it clear enough that the price guarantee did not apply to non-grocery products, such as books and football-related items.
Natalie Berg, Global Director at Planet Retail says Asda ''need to go back to the drawing board''.0 -

I find that I am always followed when I have my buggy with me and have to balance a basket or items on top of it to do my shopping. I always want to turn around and scream out that I am not a shoplifter, I have never stolen anything and I have no intention of starting now, especially not with ababy in tow!
Your method sounds like more fun!
I get that when I have my buggy!! And I know what you mean about basket balancing. Pain in the bum! I get followed quite a lot (must look like a thief!) . I have gotten so sick of security guards now that I just stop what im doing and stare at them. It actually makes them walk away!0 -

Not for me though - one's Clasico, the other's vintage. I'll let others have a go first.
Always been generous that way.0 -

:rotfl: Yes, my OH is banned from Tesco after we were going through a checkout (very inconspicuously at different checkouts, next to one another) and he shouted "Did yours work love?" after I handed over my voucher. He had been given strict instructions that he "didnt know me" and as a result of not being able to follow said instructions, i have banned him
