Tesco/Asda Pricechecker finds here (Thread 2)

As a separate discussion point, Tesco reported Asda to the ASA for their Price Guarantee adverts (which was upheld on many counts and has meant that the adverts were banned apparently - thought I hadn't seen them recently). However, the press release over on Tesco corporate site has the interesting comment in the notes to editors "Because we do not believe that customers should have to return to Asda to redeem its Price Guarantee coupons – which are in themselves proof that Asda's promotion is misleading – Tesco will redeem these coupons in full."
Do you think this will come back to bite them - or have they covered this by allowing you to redeem for home delivery? Of course the next iteration of this price guarantee/price check war is that they will be so confident they will run the price check live while you are at the till (can you imagine the CS, "Sorry Sir/Madam, we have found that we are not cheaper, please have your shopping on us and here's your change ...").

An awkward position to put editors in - and how to define someone who has "contributed?" It is also goes against the spirit of MSE.
It also goes against the spirit of MSE for people (not suggesting yourself) to come on here, grab a list which has taken much work and effort - and man/woman hours, and then pop along to Tesco and clear the shelves.
Personally I'm off on my hols in the morning for 5 days. But will be back on Friday night, eager and willing (providing the offer is still on) to give advice/answer questions and hunt for deals. Just hope we can sort something out for everybody.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
Go for it - I always wanted a stalker!
Every time I go to my local Tesco I have a stalker. Hes about 6ft 2, stocky and bald. The other day I decided to make him feel uncomfortable, so turned round and stared at him, until he walked away slightly, so I followed him. He seemed really confused, and went right back to his podium!! I then returned to my shopping0 -

You wouldn't want me - I'd nick your DTD out of your trolley when you weren't looking :A
:rotfl:
I am always on the look out for other DTD'ers when doing my shopping - checking out who has 5 pancake mixes, half a dozen sea salt and vinegar crisps and a single toothbrush....
We should set up a secret signal to check - I will roll up my trouser leg if I think I spot another person from the forum and in responce to confirm you are, you should start to moonwalk.... :rotfl::p0 -
