there have been many comments that there seem to be very few DTD vouchers around even in larger stores etc

interesting "tesco quote" from Retail Week

    http://www.retail-week.com/in-business/marketing/tesco-forced-to-cap-pricecheck-refunds/5024051.article

“It was less than 0.02% -about 100 people - who ingeniously managed to gain a larger amount. In reality, we’re talking about a tiny amount of people.”

which ties into when the £100 cap was introduced, a week or so ago, and Tesco were reported as saying that it was "one in 5000" who were exploiting the Price check scheme

so say 500,000 price checks (or customers if identified by email address or clubcard) and 100 are seeking to maximise the benefits

of course the splurge of publicity a week or so ago may have increased the number using

but i have to say as a quite frequent reader and occasional poster i do not think many people are using the price check scheme

    just my tuppence worth

I agree! Although why the hell did they embarrass themselves by changing the T&Cs when soooo few people were exploiting the scheme???? Methinks they are playing down the numbers...

Agree with this entirely. The sheer number of people I have told about this (including my own mother) that aren't doing this is amazing. I can not believe some of the excuses they come up with. I have colleagues at work would rather work 2 hours over for £15 in real money than spend 20 mins in Tesco with me for circa £60!

I don't think you realise but people are really scared about all of these. They feel they're doing something wrong. All of us who post here regularly are confident, in the very nature of becoming quite frequent posters!

Yes. Most people I know actually couldn't be bothered, or think that there's a catch somewhere or that it won't work!!! It's the same with most moneysaving ideas. I don't mind, all the more DTD goodies for me. :D

Did this for the first time today. I know the t&c's say you'll get a voucher within 36 hours but in practice, roughly how long does it take to get the voucher through? I used my cc and clubcard if that makes a difference?

So I assume they give you DTD before the voucher is deducted?

    Yup. :D:D:D:D

p.s. the vouchers usually come the next day but it can take longer sometimes.

What do you think AngelsMadv? Should be easy to do...?D

It's easy, and I can do it - please read my previous posts to see why I don't want to. When people post on MSE they do it to help others. That is my aim too. I have already made (cough insert a massive amount) from this promotion buying for my 13 goldfish, 4 koi carp, terrapin, mother, daughter, neighbour, work colleague lol! If it stopped tomorrow I'd be upset, but happy that Mr T can go take a running jump.

I'll not lock it unless someone gives me a non-selfish valid reason that I cannot debate out in a good debate.

I haven't managed to do any dtd-ing in last few days, and i came to it late in the day so haven't had chance to check out the talked about spreadsheet yet or catch up on posts, but I just wanted to say thanks very much to all those who have posted deals and information, and to all those behind the spreadsheet. Your hard work really is very much appreciated.
P.S I too have told several family members and friends about dtd and no-one has been interested, I don't get it at all!

I just wanted to say thank you to all who have posted on this forum as it has really changed our (family) lives for the better, i have worked so hard for so many years and have gone without many things, holidays are something i dream of each year and say... next year but next year does not happen. Little things like this DTD has meant i have a few pennies spare in my purse and I am so happy. I actually feel like I am ahead for the first time in ages.
so thank you for your all help in finding the gems that have saved me so much money. I also find this very exciting and will miss it when its over. But until then.... tomorrow is another day.... another shop....:j I really do not feel any guilt at all about going to shop deliberately for items which will give me a discount voucher as its a legitimate offer from Mr T and I intend to use it. I have been offered a little bit of luck and I wont say no.

This is exactly why I wont make the SS private (without compelling reasons)!

    HTH!

Get the bloody Tesco value ones at 25p! They're just as good - I was a student for 9 years! He wants 12 tins (12 is number in a tray) of peas, 12 of beans (or fridge packs :D), 12 hotdogs, 12 stewed steak (3 for 2 at mo) 12 carrots, corn, etc etc.

Can make a meal in mins with tins! Also the instant noodles are great. The 9p penny, the 20p spaghetti. Use the value pasta sauce. Teach them to live to their means!

LOL - thanks. -He's actually a very good shopper and buys value stuff all the time, so when he comes home I like to send him back with a few 'nicer' things. Actually I just got told off by him for 'buying' so much expensive food :D

Mmm, my OH has been grumbling a bit too. I wish I had one of those nice OHs that I read about on here who gets into the spirit of DTD and actually enjoys it/participates. It's not going to last forever!!!!

AngelsMadv - good point re stockpile, might try that one lol!!!

Does it not bother you that people who don't post on this thread (lurkers) and aren't contributing, are then passing on the link to the sheet to all and sundry, even people who've never heard of MSE?

*And lets not forget that the spreadsheet has been a huge team effort and I don't think any single person can stake a claim to it.
