It sucks when Tesco obviously put prices up just because Asda have done the same so they can get away with it. For example, their macaroni cheese ready meal went down to £1 to match Asda but i realised the other day it was back up at £1.37! Of course just looked at Asda and there's is the exact same price. So i don't know how they can actually call themselves the cheaper supermarket when they are just trying to keep on par with Asda and minimise DTD losses that way. Ugh.

That is textbook collusion for you.
Price wars hurt oligopolies hence they are colluding with Asda.

  • Are you upset because:

    a) you are a supplier to Tesco and already unhappy at the painfully low margins and sole exclusivity rights they demand of suppliers and worried this will simply make things worse, yet you still shop there as perhaps an unconscious obligation (or to check your product is on the shelves still); or
    b) that you didn't get your Pizza Express Margherita pizza that you then went public to say you didn't want anyway, indicating that in all actuality, you did?

I'm genuinely intrigued - psychology fascinates me :-)
i dont have an asda close to me.. and even if i did i still wouldnt bother going to the hassle just to screw one company over another, its obvious some items will always be cheaper in other stores and to base your entire shopping list over whats cheaper where is quite silly.. carry on buying those magnums which you may not have bought otherwise and see the effect on your diet!

    Evening all

Hope your all having a good day.

Just got back a DTD shop from Sunday .... I miss calculated only 12.xx on a 17.xx spend :( Must try harder I know.

But on the plus side i did use a previous voucher on my normal shop for 67.xx and recycled it.

    regards
Clearly they [Tesco] found it hard to make a promise they couldn't keep." Asda Spokesperson.

I say Tesco found it EASY to make promises it still cannot keep.

Just back from doing a 'normal shop' using a £35 voucher... checked the Magners while I was there and the SEL still has it at £2.04! I didn't get any as I didn't need extra hassle on top of using a voucher (many people have to sign everything in sight these days, all in a friendly manner, of course) - how likely is it that Tesco have dropped the price to £1.26, as per their website, but not updated the shelves...? Might go later and see what price it really is...

And is there a precedent for taking an item to CS for DTD because the SEL is wrong even though it's wrong in your favour...?! ;)

Yes, I believe some CS officers ask you to pay them double the difference you have saved :D:D:D (luckily I managed to change my terms and conditions to £0 per calendar month inbetween them asking for the money and me reaching for my purse)

I just got back my voucher from Fridays shop.
I wonder if other missing vouchers have gone the same way.
It was totally my own fault, I misspelt a letter then copy and pasted it for the second one, I had tried it about a dozen times over the weekend and today looked at it again and realised I had copied it down wrong in the first place (my OHs e mail address).
So £20 up and back to normal, and breathe : )...............
Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.
