Do not let the checkout staff keep your receipt - they have no right at all. Told OH that - There is a reason why we should keep the receipt :- maybe the stuff we bought is faulty, or food gone bad (like maybe smelly meat!) we need our receipt to exchange the stuff.
Last Friday - My OH used 1 of the £20 dtd to pay for the stuff he bought ( not dtd stuff - just general groceries) the cashier said " I got to keep your receipt" - OH did not know what to do so he said ok. Paid £1:D & went back to the carpark - called me - me said no!!! you go back in there and ask the customer service - and if they said that is not the case then demand back the old receipt - customer service said the cashier should not kept the receipt - they should just signed it (thats what I told OH) so my OH asked for the receipt back they had to go to the till and retrieve it back for him. Don't get bully by the cashier - they think they know everything which they don't we know more than they do.;)
They've kept loads of my receipts - not happy coz I like to keep them for my records but didn't want to cause a scene after all the money I had saved:( Also missed out on 120 points that I was going to get added later...

Wolf Blass Chardonnay Sav. ( am I suppose to get White or Red )? Thanks. xx:A
I bought 2 of these today : are they the right one?answer my own question : got the correct one.
I bought two of these today (Chardonnay) so am hoping they will work. Will let you know tomorrow.
Managed two shops today spending a total of £64 and used
2 x DTD vouchers
2 x Co-op CS Vouchers
1 x Finish Voucher
Handed over £10.01 in cash! :TNot bad for all that shopping.0 -
Had a funny experience in tesco using my co-op coupon today.
When I gave it to the sa he said that they don't take co-op anymore. When I queried this he said he tried to use a £2 till spit one on friday and it was rejected. He went on to say that he had made them phone the cash office and it was still rejected.
I didn't give in and asked if he could check. He called the supervisor and told her his was rejected but she went to check. Came back to tell him they do accept them.
He was not at all happy as had thrown his coupon away. Not angry at me, but angry at Tesco for not accepting his coupon. He said, and bear in mind this was a man in his late 50's, that he will get his own back and bring in a load of Boots coupons.

So, yes, stand your ground over this.

Evening All,
CW, sorry if this has already been explained somewhere in the way-distant past pages but why can't they keep the receipt? I'm going in tomorrow with my receipt and my dtd voucher. It's only got some cereals on it, so nothing I'm likely to be taking back. Is it ok if they want to keep this? (I'm a beliver in choosing your battles carefully, so don't want an unecessary disagreement with anyone at the checkout)

Hi Jonty
Partly its because they have no need of the receipt at all. Its not in the terms and conditions that they need the receipt. If Tesco want to know what people are buying they can work it out for themselves.
Tesco could keep the receipt so they can monitor what you personally are buying and then watch for when you come back again to do a dtd shop and tell you you are over the limit in there opinion. Just a bit too "big brother" really for me. There has been at least one complaint on the dtd thread where someone went in and the manager grabbed her and had all her receipts and vouchers in his hands and then banned her from the store for not keeping to the spirit of the dtd promotion by only buying dtd stuff.
The other thing is I keep all my receipts anyway for 3 months or more and thats my right, they are not taking my rights away on a whim.
Sorry if this is a bit long winded, I tried to think of all the reasons I want my receipt.

Written my DTD shopping list. Done my press ups. Off to bed in a bit. Gonna hit Tesco tomorrow. I need my fix.
Sleep well all and have a wicked evening. Catch you all tomorrow.0 -
Velvet again
Sorry to keep hijacking your thread but I know some of you continue to have issues with Velvet (as I do myself)
I am still wading through the CAP code before reporting this to the ASA. However, I've noticed that Velvet are using a stock response about the T&C's being signed off by the IPM prior to the launch of the promotion.
I think this is designed to make people think the ASA would not be interested but this is NOT the case. I know this for a fact because I was the complainant in an Andrex promotion (how ironic) a couple of years ago and, despite the fact that the T&C's in that promotion campaign had also been approved by the Institute of Sales Promotion (which is now the IPM), my complaint was still upheld.
The adjudication is in the link below if anyone is interested - sorry I know most of you aren't compers and a lot of you won't be interested so apologies again for intruding on your thread

Kind regards

Wolf Blass Yellow Label Cabernet Sauvignon 75Cl
Thats what I thought too BS.
This one..The Cab Sauv shows at T 9.49 A 5.00 on My supermarket, so well worth it. Beware getting confused by the Yellow label Shiraz, which looks very similar but has very little dtd.0
