Morning all!
My lovely day continued yesterday - so all good. I wasn't drinking so I played taxi driver to a friend of mine, and we headed to a pub that I've not been to before, to watch the football. I didn't have great expectations for this place, I have to say, but actually it was superb, so very happy. We stopped at the bookies for the National on the way and I backed the winner and the third place horse so made a profit of £66 which meant I could buy my share of the drinks all afternoon/evening without worrying about my budget. But of course as driver, my drinks were generally bought for me, so very MSE.
Shame about the football result for my team, but a good atmosphere in the pub and some good company meant it was 9ish before we thought about heading away.
DS was actually at the match, and due back at 2am.....so I needed to stay awake - so we headed round to one friend's house and three of us played some very competitive scrabble until I got the call to say the coaches were nearby. The evening was fab, and rounded off another nice Saturday
Today I am going window shopping in town with a girlfriend and we will have a picnic later. Lots of girlie gossip and much laughter on the menu
This time next week, of course, I will be donning my trainers for my marathon! I can't believe it has come around so quickly

Thanks Bob - I am certainly not complaining!
Next week will be another very intense one at work, so I am very grateful for the fact my weekends are not so stressful right now!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Good luck for next week ma'am
I've pimped your Just Giving page on FB in the hopes that someone will sponsor you - you're so close to that target!0 -
Thanks FF - I have just seen that and am very grateful! And to whoever has just sponsored me, thank you too!
I have raised £600 so far - my original target was £500 so when I reached that I upped it to £750.....hopefully I will get there, which will be a superb achievement. There are so many people out there with worthy causes, and of course a lot of people sponsored me for macmillan last year and for mencap the year before, so for people to still be putting their hands in their pockets for me this year is very touching.
I will make sure you all get your money's worth - am determined to give Spongebob Squarepants a run for his money this year :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi Hypno,
I hope you don't mind me dropping in on your diary. Just wanted to say congratulations on your amazing debt busting. I've actually read through all of your first diary (feel a bit stalker-ish saying that!) and wanted to know if you could possibly post links to your next diaries after that first! I have hunted the forum for them but just couldn't find them anywhere.
Also good luck for next Sunday. I'm running too. My first marathon and am terrified! You seem to be very calm about it!0
