Hypno you're certainly on life's roller coaster an the moment - hang on in there and a calm bit will be around the next corner. Big hug.January spends - £587.580

Big hugs xxx hope you can work through your emotions and come out of the other side soon and can relate to the brainache feeling.0

Thanks all, and good luck souk with the interview today. I also hope that you get to hear confirmation from the other job very soon so that you can sort out what you are doing.
Had another reasonable nights sleep - shame the alarm went off, but certainly grateful for the hours that I did have. Hope to deal with some more stuff today.
The "social" confidence stuff we spoke about yesterday was very interesting. My current crappiness does go a lot deeper and wider than that but it really did help to hear what you all said, and I will be working further with that today to try and at least feel more in control over that one area.
Aiming to go to the gym after work again today. Have a good one, and a good week ahead of you xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Good morning, I'm glad you're getting to grips with the issues. Remember what Flylady says about houses - it didn't get like that in a day so it won't get straight in a day.
You're doing better than you give yourself credit for. :T:T:TBut how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
What an interesting conversation! Love the flylady quote at the very end, Tricia, how appropriate - when we realise this stuff, we want to change it *now*, of course .... um, it doesn't work that way!
Love Souk's summary too - boobs OR legs, lips OR eyes!
Hypno, glad you got a little more sleep last night, and I hope today isn't too stressful. As you say, although the crappy stuff goes deep, this area is helpful to work on too. For me as well.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I am getting this bit right, at least, so that is one box ticked!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

on the subject of badly dressed folks out and about of an evening, I caught a snippet of a police program on Channel 4 ages ago, a very funny female PC was describing a phenomenon they referred to as No Mates, No Mirror, No Mum. it has stayed with me to this day and I often think of it when out on the town (especially as I live in Essex although it isn't limited to here of course! :rotfl:)
haven't been on in ages so this will be a bit sporadic!
hypno I am glad you have had a little more sleep. I love Zumba as I find you have to shake every single bit of you (in a good way) and for me the tension just melts away. our teacher only believes in one volume level - max - and so you can't really here your troubles over the music
thanks everyone for chatting about the image stuff - I have been thinking about this more and more over the weekend, and have come to the conclusion I am in dire need of a wardrobe overhaul. ASAP. I bought a couple of gorgeous things on Friday night but need some quality staples/basics to pull everything together.
off topic (well kind of!), any recommendations for decent quality knitwear that doesn't cost a fortune? not that I am turning into a cardi lady (Souk will know what I mean here!) but I do need a nice black cardi to tone down a lairy coloured dress which I hope to wear for work!
hypno it must be so daunting confronting what's next for you after all your marathon efforts of recent years (including several ACTUAL marathons!) but I'm sure after a little pit stop, you will be raring to go again. I go far too fast as well, then come grinding to a halt when my body can't take it any more. I'm trying to even it out a bit without slowing down toooo much! :rotfl:0
