Thanks SF - I just need some sleep.....today I broke my "new me" rule, that I have kept to for the last year or so, and went to work without make up because my eyes were too puffy, and without straightened hair. OK, so it is superficial, but it did show me that it doesn't take much to get myself back onto that CBA or I'm not worth it type cycle.

And of course the lack of care that I had taken in the morning lead me to feel dowdy during the day....which does nothing for my (still fragile) confidence.

As I say, I know it is superficial, and getting more sleep is about more than just putting eye makeup on, but it did tell me a lot today, and I didn't really like it :o

You remind me of me...need to go to bed early enough to get up early enough to straighten hair. Have had a new job for 2 weeks and they have only ever seen my hair up in a French twist, which covers a multitude of sins.

Hypno and Pickle hereby pledge to get up early and pamper their tresses before setting off to work. ;)

Getting up early isn't a problem....I am up before 6, and leave the house at 7 and I never oversleep.

It is the actual getting to sleep that is the problem - the lack of hours sleep, and the cumulative impact that is having on me as the week(s) go on and the head is fuzzy, and the eyes are puffy etc.

I have plenty of time to get ready before work...but today I took one look at my sorry self in the mirror and just went "nah". If I could have taken a duvet day, I would have :o

I'm off to bed now as I'm really tired; didn't sleep well last night at all :( hoping tonight will be better, for both of us!

Here's hoping for a good night's sleep all round.

I woke at 4 really annoyed by something Mr GG did in my dream & couldn't get back to sleep :rotfl:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • I had a good look in the mirror today and realised things are in need of some work. Funny how it takes a while to notice but it means so much deep down :(

    Here's to a good night's sleep x

If you find an answer, please publish here before you make your millions by selling it to the desperate multitude.

I have no idea why I can fall asleep as soon as the TV is switched on and wake at around 2.00 am.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Oh don't worry, tricia, if I find that magic remedy, I will be sharing it on here, that is for sure!

Better sleep last night but not brilliant - took ages to drop off and then woke several times in the night. But it was better than the rest of the week so far, so I am grateful for that.

As it is friday, I think I may divert via Nero on my way to work today.....it is a rarity now, but much needed at the end of a tough week!

I'm due out with the girls tonight - I don't really feel in the right frame of mind, but know that I should just do it. I have no reason not to go, so.....

    Have a good day everyone.......t'is Friday :D
