My slow cooker curry is much the same but I like to add a good handful of sultans/raisins and some chopped dried apricots.......apples are also good if you can pop them in for the last half hour (or they turn to mush).
Veggie chilli is done in much the same way and makes a nice change from a heavy meatier one."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Wouldn't that make it a meat curry?
My South Asian neighbour told me that all real curries are unique because they use whatever is in the fridge and cupboard so we're obviously authentic. :T:T:T
A bit of ginger makes a curry rather nice and, if it's too strong for your taste, add some yoghurt or coconut milk or creamed coconut - any coconut over freezes fine. But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Will definitely be making a batch of "authentic" curry at the weekend
Shred duly done - thought I had better get on with it as soon as I got home.....glad it is done, but tomorrow will have to be an early morning Shred as I am out in the evening.....it will be hypno vs the snooze button for sure

Why don't you try Starbucks Via Colombian coffee which is sold in the supermarket - a box of 7 sachets is around £2.99 so although it's not the cheapest, goes a long way to tasting like the proper stuff. Looks like filter coffee when you put it into the cup, but it really is an instant.0

I don't like starbucks
I am such a coffee snob:rotfl:
I might be prepared to give the sachets a go, though - it will only cost the same as one genuine Nero, so will easily pay for itself even if I have to "suffer" the rest of the packet!
