But anything that comes out of the tax rebate doesn't have to come from another pot of money or be found from day to day living expenses by scrimping and saving.

So having the extra there just makes life so much easier. :D

And it will make it easier to be able to add to the Morocco and Rome pots :T

Exactly - it just takes that pressure off balancing the day to day books a bit :D

And Samantha's actress comes from Liverpool, of course :D

No idea who I am in SATC, but I love it, all the same.

Read back a little way on here, and saw about your tax rebate - excellent news, Hypno! Morrocco .... ooh yes. I've only been there on a school trip, when I was 14 (i.e. in prehistory) and even that was exciting :rotfl:

    I'm definitely a Carrie/Charlotte combo :D

Have had a lovely afternoon - the sun came out and I went to a housewarming bbq - lots of people I've not met before so was a little unsure about going, but glad I did.....a very relaxed time, and superb company.

Batteries fully recharged ready for the week ahead and whatever it brings!

Morning all - last week of July  Goodness this year is flying by!

After my mini spending spree at the weekend, I have sat down with my receipts and totted everything up - wasn't sooooo bad, considering what I bought/did so I'm ok with that. Must not make a habit of it though!

Back to the focus on making the money go further today, and I nipped into Mr Ts on the way to work to get lunchy bits to help in the good food habits, and also bypassed Caffe Nero, so have put my coffee money in the Rome pot, and will put some lunch money in the Morocco pot when I have successfully avoided spending further money later in the day.

It is potentially still a spendy day though as I am having my eyes tested, and the frames I have my eye on are not the cheapest. I get a contribution from work but will fund the balance myself.....It is the first time since I started wearing glasses 15 years ago that I am not restricted to the cheap or special offer frames, and as I am now wearing my glasses more frequently, I think I will get what I want this time

I am banking my HMRC cheque today too - lovely feeling that will be - and have worked out what proportion of it will be spent, and what will go into savings, so think I have got the balance about right there.

All in all, things not looking too bad :D
